Bottle into glass. Really great chocolate and coffee aroma. Pours almost a solid black with head that disappears quickly. Has a light bitter taste. Full bodied with a slick texture. Interesting stout.

A tasty and inoffensive stout that reminds me of some decent Oyster Stouts I’ve had in the past. For those fearing a fishy or sea-ish flavour, don’t worry. It’s mostly just a nice toasted malt and coffee blend with the umami having more in common with sesame than seaweed. Very approachable lunchtime stout, great alongside a sandwich at a pub.

It was very dark and smooth. Not overpowering or too sweet, but I enjoyed it and would buy it again. A very drinkable stout.

Deep brown, nearly black in colour. Minimal tan head, very little retention. Aroma of black coffee, dark chocolate. Taste is bitter, briny and has just a touch of sweetness. Medium body, watery mouthfeel, average carbonation and a lingering bitter/briny finish.

Bottle. Dark brown, beige head. Dark chocolate, bitter roast, light fruit acids, roasty bitterness, medium bodied. Pretty much by the numbers.
