Gusgus (105), Tanumshede, Sweden Jun 29, 2008 Draught @ the brewery. Dark amber with creamy head. A hint of phenols hits the nose at first, but dissipates and turn into a very nice herbal hoppiness with powerful notes of belgian strong ale from the use of 400 EBC Crystal. This leaves a note of burnt raisins and prunes. Clean palate with nice spicy hops over some bready malt. Very balanced and nice. fiulijn (5860), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jun 10, 2008 Bottle at Rover, Göteborg It has a dark chestnut color, with a persistent layer of foam. It has a very nice aroma, of hop and dark chocolate, a bit cheesy. It has a good body strength; the flavor is based on dark caramel, roasted malt and chocolate, geting drier and more aggressive in its bitterness at the end, the bitterness coming from the roasted malt; it has also a light sourness from the same malt; quite unique and appreciated, it has a pleasant blue cheese touch in the late flavor. Maybe the roastiness is to much for me in the final, but all the rest is nice. Good and interesting. Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 6, 2008 Bottled at RBESG 2007. A hazy dark amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of spices, herbs, and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty and very spicy and herbal, leading to a dry finish which contains notes of citrus. anders37 (2563), Malmö, Sweden Dec 9, 2007 Draught.
