Brewed to take advantage of the lower duty on beers 2.8% and under. Bottle, Cask Uncertain This Fine Amber ale has been brewed using a complex mix of hops to offer balanced bitterness with strong tropical notes. All the flavour you would expect from a great English ale but at only alc. 2.8& vol.

Clear nutty golden color with a fine white head. Grainy and caramel malty aroma. Ok body for an 2,8% beer. Moderate sweet and an ok bitterness. Average carbonation. Caramel malty, grainy and herbal flavor. Quite nice bitter.

golden, clear, minimal head, light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, thin feel, average carbonation, not bad for a low abv i found it quite enjoyable with my tea tonight

Appearance: Clear copper amber with finger thick white head. Aroma: Fruity, malty, light caramel, subtle pineapple. Taste: Medium bitterness, low/medium sweetness and low sourness. Palate: Medium thick coarse texture and body, average carbonation, abrupt fruity, malty and peppery finish. Comments: Ok but lacking in flavour and aroma, however, based on its low ABV its not bad.

Beese (2560) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 1, 2014
Bottle from Morrisons. Poured a clear copper colour, with a thin white head and visible force carbonation. Aroma of malt, CO2 and boiled sweets. Cream soda flavours and all the usual things one might expect from a pasteurised Greene King effort; really sweet, with a very artificial note and some grassy bitterness lingering in the background. This becomes quite metallic towards the end and leaves an unpleasant taste in the mouth.

It’s NOT bad! It’s an English beer, for Christ’s sake, and with low alcohol content. Nice and malty, honeyish, and a touch of biscuits. Sweet, as all bitters.

Bottle from Tesco, Enniskillen [110314]
Light caramel brown, fizzy bubbles, large white head that dissipated
Aroma - clear bottle...not too much skunk though...slight caramel...bit of toffee...hint of fruits...not much here
Taste of slight sweet caramel...light fruits...bit tangy...touch of toffee...very thin in flavour...not too awful though
Palate - Medium carb...very light body...fairly sweet palate. Finish as main flavour...watery...smooth toffee caramel
Overall - Thought this was going to be shit but was better than expected...though I won’t be getting this again

Bottled 31/08/13. An amber coloured beer with no head. Initially sweet with caramel and toffee notes. However a reasonable citrus note does come through a bit later. Not bad apart from the sickly sweet nose and actually tastes bigger than 2.8%

Not as bad as I thought it would be, probably because the pub kept it well. Mid-brown, looks and tastes (!) like Greene King IPA with a slightly bubble gum flavour to start off with followed by well, not a lot really. There is some butter but you expect that from GK. Finish is virtually instant. These low gravity beers offer the brewer the opportunity to brew an ale with the emphasis on the hops, an opportunity that Greene King have spurned. Good concept, lousy execution.
