Croatian Royal Beer.
Tomislav, made with 17.75% malt extract, is the strongest beer in Croatia, introduced in 1925. The use of double malted barley gives this dark lager its full taste and special aroma, much appreciated by connoisseurs. Tomislav pivo has an alcohol content of 7.3% vol, and should be served at 8° C.

Dark with tan head and roasty aroma. Not the most intense Baltic Porter I’ve tried but that does tend to enhance its drinkability. Reasonably bitter finish. Nice.

black, hazy, medium tanned foam; sweet, caramelly, chocolateish, roasty aroma with some alcohol; medium sweetness, medium(-) bitterness; rather full bodied, thick, slightly oily feel, average carbonation, little bit alcoholic bitter finish; Overall: very nice beer, alcohol a bit too noticeable

Bowled in to an old man boozer within the city walls of Dubrovnik. Felt like the only place in the vicinity that wasn’t designed to fleece tourists. There was a team of old boys singing traditional Croatian songs and it was a bit of a stopped piano moment when we arrived. They got over and we stayed for a game of chess and a pint of Tomislav. Basically the only serviceable beer from the old guard of Croatian brewers. It’s thick and robust. Sweet and Boozy. Delicious.

Bouteille 50cl, cheers to my uncle for bringing this one from his vacations.

Enjoyed many a bottle of this while in Croatia and it was a very nice change of pace from all the pale lagers. Pours dark with hints of caramel and roasted malt.

Really nice industrial beer, however I was surprised with it being one of the best Croatian beers. Definitely not! However, I would recommend it. As it can be found anywhere it is always a good plan B.

500ml bottle(5/2/5/2/10=2.4), thanks FatPhil. Dark motor oil color. Faint caramel, slightly sweet and some roast in aroma. Sour in taste. Smooth and caramel too. Ordinary taste. Sour notes are not intensive. Ohh and it looks like beer! (review and numbers by Kristel)

Odlično pivo, uz Gričku vješticu najbolje Hrvatsko tamno pivo. Tamna boja, gustoća i okus karamele, čokolade i kave. Malo je slađe za moj ukus, al to mu ne kvari prosjek.

0,5 bottle from Croatia, courtesy of Marko. Opened and consumed in Serbia. Pours the closest I have so far seen to espresso coffee color, brown texture and creamy dark ivory foam. Nose: coffee, leather, molasses, fresh black figs. Mouth: bitter palate, smoked barley, refreshing aftertaste and not much of that 7,3% alcohol. One more please. Thank you Marko ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
