COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tommyknockers slipped into the mining camps in the 1800’s with the discovery of gold to the West. The majestic Rocky Mountains have inspired the cool refreshing taste of Alpine Glacier Lager. As clean and fresh as the rushing water from icy streams and as brisk as a climb up a frozen glacier, this brew contains the finest ingredients in the Tommyknocker tradition.

Not impressive or distinct. Faint malty smell. Clear golden color with fizzy head. A step above macro brews but not by much. Average carbonation with grassy and malty taste but nothing notable. Not many flavors here. It stayed true to the style but doesn’t separate itself from the masses. Easy to drink and should go well with most bar foods.

On tap at the brewery. Gold, pale and clear with a small white head. Pretty fresh aroma of citrus fruits, hops and pale malts. Similar flavor, mild and crisp with a lingering bitter finish.

Bottled. Golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is bready malt, some slight sweetness, mild floral and grassy notes along with some doughlike notes as well. Flavour is rather similar, but also has some slight nutmeg like notes to it. Gets a bit more body as it warms up a bit from being fridgecold.

Light golden with sticky head. Fruity flavor on a typical pilsner. Would say above average though. Had this on draft at tommyknocker brewpub.

Backlog, from notes. On tap @ the brewpub in Phoenix, AZ, 16 May 2001. Golden color. Aroma’s: somewhat sweet, malty/grainish. Flavor is light malty sweet. Finishes with a mild bitterness. Not exciting, but with 104 degrees outside it went down well.

Noble hops and dms in aroma. Beer poors brilliant golems with a persistent white head. Medium sweet, corn flavor, smooth noble hop bitterness. Overall, the beer is drinkable, but has a strong corn flavor that’s a bit too strong.

12 fl oz bottle. (Friar Tuck) Springfield, IL.
Lively pale golden colour with an average sized white head. Malt, marzipan and a note of hops in the mild aroma. The flavour is bitter, but no very good. It’s not balanced and it’s not tasty. Not much more there than bitterness.

Hey, let’s give a local pilsner a fair shake, what do you say? Pilsner is not supposed to smell like cooked cabbage and kale and sweet corn and cement. Pilsner is not supposed to be goopy and sludgy and dull. Pilsner should be crisp and uplifting and bouncy while also having a full, frothy body. It’s not supposed to smell and taste like crystal malt and butter and stewed vegetables. Estery, phenolic, chalky, metallic, solvent, etc. Another shameful beer from a perennial underachiever.

chinchill (1364) - South Carolina, USA - JUN 28, 2013
(from Oct. 2011 notes) 12 oz bottle, dated April 2011, nicely fills a pint glass, with a lasting off-white head rising to the rim. This golden beer is slightly hazy, and a bit of sediment remained at the bottom of the bottle. A substantial coating is left on the glass as the level declines. Hints of citrus in the taste and smell. Unfortunately, the aroma is a bit too musty and lacking in clear hop aroma. The same could be said of the aftertaste, although the finish itself is more than acceptable. Medium-light body; crisp and more than semi-dry on the finish.

bottle. Poured hazy amber with a large bubbled white head. Slightly citrusy, grassy aroma. Crisp carbonation, light body with an astringent dry finish. Flavour of pale malts and wheat and floral hops.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Relatively clean pale malty profile, with low sweetness, and a hint of noble hop bitterness. Very drinkable with no real off flavors.
