2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours hazy brown with some yeast sediment and tan/orange head. Aroma is dark fruit, namely raisins and prunes. The flavor is an amplified version of the the aroma but with some heavier yeast notes. There is some sort of sour and chalky off-flavors in the flavor that inhibit its full potential. I would also like to taste a bit more malt character in this one but all in all not bad.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz Bottle. The bock poured a clear dark amber color with a small off-white head. The beer has a malty fruity caramel aroma. The higher alcohol has an impact in creating a sweetish malty caramel flavor. The doppelbock has soft carbonation. There was no head at the conclusion of the beer. The finish has a sweetish caramel aftertaste.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a cloudy brown with a nice beige head. Good malty sense on the nose. Can catch the malt and a slight sweetness into the mouth. Sweetness continues through the swallow followed by a pleasant bitterness and a little zip on the finish. Decent representative of the style, liked it. Would have again.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Chestnut brown with very little head. Yeast esters and a bit of malt and raisin on the nose. Similar taste, with the yeast being fairly prominent, though it ends with a nice noble hop bite. Medium body and carbonation. A very good beer, but almost more like a belgian style than a true bock.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Reddish brown body with a tan head. Fully malty aroma - caramel, dark fruit, a bit of bread. The malt aroma does not translate into the taste. Instead there is more yeast, grain and some hops. Finishes bready and slightly dry. Palate is medium bodied and smooth.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 4/15/2013. Pours lightly hazy ruby red color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of pear, apple, golden raisin, caramel, toast, molasses, brown bread, floral, light chocolate, toasted earthiness, and yeast ester fruitiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt and fruity ester notes. Taste of apple, pear, raisin, caramel, toast, chocolate, molasses, brown bread, floral, toasted earthiness, light nuttiness, and yeast ester fruitiness. Slightly tart fruitiness on the finish; with lingering notes of light fruits, caramel, toast, molasses, chocolate, brown bread, floral, light nuttiness, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity of dark malt and fruity esters; with a solid malt/fruity flavor balance; and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a creamy, slick, and lightly syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a nice doppelbock. A little too fruity, but has good malt complexity; and is very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled, 355ml from Bellingers Garage, Grove, Oxon. Chestnut with off white short head. Quite a fruity beer with a sweet, aspartame type note. Quite esthery in character and a touch thinnish on the palate. Not really sure about this.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours Dark Amber with a thin tan head that dissolves quickly. Sweet malt aroma with some bread and yeast. Smooth rich mouth feel that is slightly sweet. The alcohol is hidden very well. An excellent doppelbock that’s made in America.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz Bottle. The pour was a clear medium brown with some reddish highlights and an average (1-2 finger) light tan creamy head that was mostly diminishing, down to a thin film and medium collar with poor runny lacing.
The aroma was of a lightly toasted sweet grain malt and an earthy yeast with notes of caramel, toffee, chocolate and a mild fruity ester.
The taste was lightly sweet and rather malty with a hint of caramel and just a touch of chocolate form the start, then changed slightly into a bitter sweet taste with a light fruity presence and a mild alcohol finish. The flavor was short lived with just a light lingering alcohol taste left behind.
Mouthfeel was just above light in body and dry in texture with a somewhat lively carbonation.
Overall this was a decent Bock beer with a really good taste and a smooth drinkability...

Draft at jupiters. Deep amber in color. Nice maltiness with some caramel. Finish is also good. Not too hoppy.
