Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 11, 2005 Updated: May 23, 2005[Butt Head Bock] The aroma is very sweet with notes of alcohol and hints of alcohol. The color is brown and it has a small diappearing brown head. The flavor is sweet and rather hoppy with notes of roasted malt and alcohol running over the tongue, which warms. The mouthfeel ís smooth. [Tommyknocker Bockfest] Vintage 1996 sampled 2004. The Bockfest is a retired seasonal made by adding Rum and Allspice to the Butt Head Bock, but otherwise the specs are the same. A hazy red beer with a disappearing head. The aroma is of spices, where cinnamon stands out. The flavor is dusty combined with notes of oranges and spices - it definately tastes a little old. The body is a little thin - amazing of such a strong beer - even though it is 8 years old. [7/4/5/2/12] omhper (10456), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 25, 2002 Red-brown Very hop aromatic. Big maltiness. Tastes like a barley wine.
Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 10, 2006 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear, dark amber with a small, off-white head. Malty, vaguely vinous, tart nose. Solid, full-bodied with plenty of malt. Some notes of caramel. Slightly tart edge and a dry, lightly hoppy finish. 050506 Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 20, 2007 Hazy dark amber. Raisin and brown sugar in a fairly straightforward, slightly grainy aroma. Sweet, simple toffee taste, with a hint of earthiness. Comes off like a really by-the-numbers doppelbock, which is fine, but my favourite examples tend to have a bit more flair. joergen (6340), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 6, 2006 Bottle.
