12 oz. bottle from Broudyís at Jax Beach. Pours a nice dark color with a light tan head. Aroma is all cocoa. Taste has a powdered cocoa tinge to it with a little bit of the usual porter follow up. A good porter...if youíre a girl. Iíll pass on this one next time.

Very dark brown body with a light brown sand colored head. The aroma is Swiss Miss hot chocolate with some light notes of caramel. The taste is light diet chocolate soda with some coffee flavored candy in the finish. There is also some root beer barrel candy, but not in a pleasant way. Overall, this is a strangely thin brew for a winter porter.

Nice aroma of malt, chocolate, roated malt, touch of honey. Poured a mahogany with a small, thin head. Left light lacing. Flavor is a dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa with a light touch of honey. Light in body, thin texture, very light carbonation, a long bitter then sweet finish that is pleasant. This is a nice beer. Its enjoyable flavor is predominently cocoa. I like it, but it is very thin and light and I like a bit of a head on my beer with some carbonation, both of which lack in this. A nice beer, definitely worth a try. I like it, but would rather have a Mackesonís. Will definitely have again.

Pours a slightly ruby, dark brown with a brown head. Aroma is malty and sweet, of chocolate. It literally tastes like cocoa powder. Itís quite good and chocolatey. The mouthfeel is a bit thin, though. 12 oz. bottle.

Pours a semi-transparent dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of semi-sweet cocoa powder and roasted malts with some earthiness and peat. Body starts a little thinner than expected but the carbonation helps to thicken it. Lots of sweet cocoa flavor with decent balance of mild bittering hops toward a lingering milk chocolatey sweetness. A pretty unique beer and I could see how some people might not like it, but the sweet chocolate character reminds me of drinking the milk in my cereal bowl after eating Cocoa Krispies, which is a good thing.

Dry, cocoa, cereal peated/smoked malt aroma. Almost opaque. Fair label - for Tommyknocker, really quite good. Sweet, creamy. Porter is buried under a mocha-latte milkshake. Cereal-roast finish. Market Square Liquors.

Strykzone (6176) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - DEC 6, 2007
Pours like a classic porter and has a nice tan one finger head. Aroma is a nice malt / hop balance. Flavor is roasted malt with some chocolate. The chocolate flavors grow as the glass warms. There is a small hoppy zing on the tip of the tongue. Mouth feel is a bit iffy but this is a pretty nice beer. I donít get the 14% rating.

Smelled great with rich bakerís chocolate aroma. Pours black with scant head. Tastes rich and warming with heavy chocolate accents and nutty finish. Surprised to see the lower ratings for this one; one of the better winter porters Iíve tried.

RSRIZZO (1931) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - DEC 1, 2007
Had this beer on 1/28/2007. Aroma is a mild roasted scent. Color is a deep dark amber with a lose head and good carbonation. Taste is light and sweet. Starting with a light/medium body it goes down easy with a smooth feel. Finish comes on with a mild sweetness and roasted flavor with only the slightest hint of coco in the very end that leaves you with a mellow sweet feel. Overall its not a full porter and the cocoa flavor is almost undetectable

very wheaty, almost rice cake aroma which has fainter notes of chocolate and honey. dark brown with a small slight tan head. pleasant and sweet flavor of chocolate, honey and wheat. nicely balanced. finishes sweet and again rice like. slightly bitter. overall a great chocolate and honey balance knocked astray by rice like off notes of the aroma and to a lesser extent in the flavor.
