2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Draft. Aroma: Cocoa powder just dominates the aroma. Behind that, very light maltiness, some sugary sweetness, and not much else. Appearance: Dark brown in color. Medium khaki head was small and foamy with decent retention. No lacing. Flavor: Again, cocoa powder is the dominant flavor. Not even good cocoa powder. Standard Hersheyís that you would buy at any Grocery Store. Very light roasted malt behind that. Very one dimensional, and not a good dimension. Palate: Medium-light bodied and watery. Medium carbonation. Overall: Just bad. Too much cocoa and not enough everything else. Poor.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Quite a delicious brew! Deep brownish-black color with a tight head, giving way to slight effervescence. Rich hot-cocoa-like aromas coupled with a touch of honey creates a nicely balanced flavor. Very low hop presence, but good for this style. Slight alcohol flavor tames the sweetness nicely and essentially makes this brew quite quaffable! Would be an axcellent pairing to rich desserts, or possibly hearty meats in main courses, such as certain types of game. Other reviewers must have gotten infected bottles, because this tasted like liquid gold to me!!

Bottle from Jungle Jimís. Poured a black color with a small rocky off-white head that was mostly diminishing with minimal lacing. Light sweet aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium bittersweet flavor with medium sweet finish of short duration.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. Bottle labeled best enjoyed 4 months of date notched - notched N í06. Poured a dark brown with red edges and a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of mainly cocoa with some honey. Tastes of mainly cocoa, with again some honey and very light roast. This one was all about the Cocoa powder and deserves its name. I could probably mix this with milk and give it to my kids in place of their chocolate milk. I didnít fnid it as overly offense as the majority of people did.

1.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Pours very dark brown with cloudy orange highlights. Thin fizzy head quickly fades. A bunch of sediment (cocoa powder?) pours in the end. Sweet earthy aroma and definite cocoa. Tangy and sour flavors, very thin. Barely any malt flavor, slight cocoa in the finish, but leaves a very sour flavor as well. Was this an infected bottle?

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Deep Dark brown pour, with a small light brown bubbly head. The aroma is all cocoa, no malt, not anything but cocoa. This a lighter bodied porter with flavor tending to be very true to the aroma, very cocoa. This was suprisingly sweet too. Not malty enough.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a dark brown with a decent tan head. The aroma is that of instant cocoa powder but no other malty charateristics is evident. The flavor is that of cocoa powder and a bit of sweetness but no other qualities surface.

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
All I have to start with, is this is the closest Iíve ever come to a drain pour.
It tastes really sour. Itís like eating a hershey kiss and a lemonhead at the same time. Donít really get this beer. The smell is as bad as the taste. The only thing going for it, is it doesnít look that nasty sitting in the glass. Which gets you to drink it. I kept on taking drinks thinking thereís no way itís as bad as I think it is. This thing is a mess!

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JUN 19, 2007 Pours brown with a little white head. The cocoa and honey balance each other nicely, but this beer just doesnít do it for me. I can drink maybe one, and then Iím ready to move on.
Also, i canít explain it, but every time I have drank one of these, I get a massive headache in the morning, even if I only drink one of these the night before.
