2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled. Poured clear, medium reddish-brown with a medium cap of beige head. The aroma was Hershey’s syrup right off the bat with light roast to it.. very sweet with some caramel and honey as well. The flavor was painfully sweet with cocoa powder and honey leading the way.. kinda like liquified chocolate cake on the back.. sticky finish with ashy, sticky black patent, cola, and cocoa. Super sweet on the palate and a touch shy of medium-bodied.. tacky on the back.. just not a whole lotta good going on.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sampled at From The Vine beer tasting Jan 26th, 2007: The beer is a dark chestnut color with a medium thin and rather fizzy light brown head that dissipates right away. Thin and spotty lacing. Cocoa aroma similar to opening a can of the powdered mix. Not much else to the aroma. Medium-bodied and lightly roasty with cocoa dominating the flavor as well. The finish is sweet cocoa and is chalky at times. Pretty much a one-trick pony.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle 355 ml
Appearance: Murky, muddy ale with brown tint. Very small (minimal) head produced. Flat looking.
Nose : Neat , refreshing cocoa with brown sugar like. Smooth pleasant set up. 8-
Flavor/Palate : Medium light bodied . Clean earthy hints with cocoa accents . creamy texture , smooth and soft. Well produced centre of palate but supporting sides were poor. That made slightly one sided brew which in it self is not a bad thing but such way might not suit everyone.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
12 oz bottle just purchased at Lueken’s in Dunedin, FL. Pours kind of dark brown and dirty with thin tan head. The aroma is bits of roasty and burnt malts hidden under a musty blanket of oxidation. The taste is just the same as the aroma with roasty malts, burnt malts, a splash of chocolate milk, malt sweetness and then a big roll of old wet cotton throw rug. Not so good.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: NOV 10, 2006 2006 Bottle.
Head is initially small, fizzy, light brown, fully diminishing.
Body is medium to dark brown.
moderately malty (chocolate/cocoa, roasted grain), lightly hoppy (herbs).
moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation.
Except for some of the roasty malt character in the background and finishing bitterness, this is not too far from being a chocolatey soda. Force carbonated fizz, quickly/fully dying head, simple aroma/flavor.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Sounds good from the label, tastes merely average. It doesn’t have a huge amount of cocoa, it just comes off as a sweet and unbalanced porter.
