EithCubes (5103) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 24, 2013
Bottle by MAY 20 13. Nose lightly roasty, more acrid/acidic than chocolaty, pours dark brown with ruby highlights and really no head. Lightly tart, lightly fruity taste, even the porter notes are restrained, to say nothing of the proposed chocolate. Lesser sweetness and no bitterness, touch of pre-vomit. Medium-fullish body, sticky but unredemptive.

Cocoa and sweetness. Maybe caramel make this beer up. Not too much of anything. Average brew. Noting spectacular.

12oz bottle from Kenny Rd Market. Dark brown pour, light tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, coffee. Tastes of sweet malt, chocolate, honey, toasty. Oily palate. Falls a little flant - not much going on.

12 oz bottle from backlog notes. Pours a clear brown color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor have cocoa powder, honey sweetness, light roast, light earthy notes, the sweet, powdery chocolate is ok, probably just a touch better than its average in my book.

bottle to glass; looks like I was a positive outlier on this one. Enjoyed. aroma of chocolate, roasted malt. nice dark pour. I thought the mouthfeel was above average for a regular porter - thought this had some thickness to it. Taste was similar to aroma - very solid brew; would have again.

Aroma has chocolate and cinnamon. This porter has a smooth finish and the palate is complex.

Bottle: pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aromas are chocolate and sugar. Taste is a bit disappointing, watery mouthfeel, and only a light roasty chocolate flavor. Easy drinking and if I didn’t have my hopes up I wouldn’t feel as let down.
