Well... this beer shows the horrors of beer exchanges. It pours like flat cola, no head, no lacing. It smells like chocolate syrup, and tastes like chocolate syrup added to water with a bit of bitterness in the end. This beer brings nothing to the table.

Clear, dark brown, small head. Aroma has lots of chocolate, some cocoa and honey. Taste is chocolate, hints of honey. A bit watery, also no roasted.

Dark sweet. Espresso. Farm. Gentle. Some coco and probably vanilla. Long sweetlicious aftertaste. Sadly watery. Old batch though.

12 oz bottle into pint glass.

Pours a ruby color, maybe it’s mahogany, dark brown perhaps. But you can see light through it. About one finger khaki head. Little retention, some lacing.

Aroma is cocoa. Dark, rich cocoa. It’s almost chocolate cake sweet and rich smelling. Smells very nice. I also smell some honey. Not much else.

Taste is chocolate. I taste some coffee, but it’s deep in there. It’s sweet. It has to be to overcome that cocoa flavor..

Mouthfeel is medium light. Not a lot of body. Very smooth and creamy. Slightly bitter deep in the finish from the cocoa. Reasonably drinkable, no alcohol taste to be found.

Overall, it’s okay. There are far better porters out there. This one could be the best cocoa porter though, I dunno. If it had more body, it would be much better. Still not bad. Would I drink it again, yes, I would. I might recommend it as a dessert porter, because it is so sweet and chocolatey. Can you imagine pouring this over chocolate cake? Mmmmm....

Laimeanlainen. Kookosta vähän maistan mutta ei tämä erikoinen ole. Mitäänsanomaton.

bottle @ Vino Bellissimo / Lima OH --- Aroma of toasted malt. Opaque black color, 1" tan head, bands of lace. Taste is sweet malt that adds mild fizz on the swallow, turning from there to what seem like cocoa hops in the finish. All the parts don’t make a harminic whole, with much seeming to be awkwardly place. The good parts are there - they just don’t go together very well.

Heavy dark chocolate flavor. Not overpowering, but not much besides. Would drink again, but not if a better porter is available.

bottle, thx euphemos! Dark brown blackish. Chocolate nutty nose, pretty sweet, kinda nice. Chocolate cakey. Med bodied, a bit light, not thin, but going there. Bitters feel a bit hard on that, finishes weak. Ok nose, dissapointing body.
