Malty like a solid porter and a solid bitter kick. One of my local favorites, but not quite as good as Bear republic Hop Rod Rye

bottle. Poured opaque brown with a large tan head. Malty nose with a touch of citrusy hops. Slick texture with tight carbonation, finishes dry. Roasted chocolate malt flavour with a spicy oaky quality, and piney hops.

A: chocolate and barnyard. A: muddy brown with a nice thick head. T: sweet, small bitterness, chalky. P: light for how dark it is. O: nothing special, would not turn down a free one but probably would not buy again.

Bottle..Nose is spice, chocolate, roast, pine, more roast..Taste is roast, light pine, chocolate, caramel, musty, dry and no rye

The flavor was very malty, not much citrus,. It is a heavy beer resembling a stout

Pours a dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is roasted malt and piney hops. Flavor is roasty malt, chocolate, toffee, caramel, citrus fruit, and piney hops with rye barely noticeable. Medium body with medium carbonation. Pretty decent.

Bottle pours an opaque black with a medium tan head. Aromas of caramel and hops. Taste is dark malt, hops, hints of stout characters: chocolate and coffee. Bitter and not as alcoholic as I would expect.

Aroma: pear, floral, dark roasted
Flavor: chocolate, and coffee.
Comment: Interesting. Good beer with rather straight forward flavor. Didn’t notice the rye.

This was a nice solid black IPA. Really enjoyed the thickness and the aromatics. Lots of bitter on the tongue.

God direkt från flaskan. Ganska mycket citrus inklusive grape, men även choklad och sötma, samt bra beska i slutet!

Not at all prepared for this beer. Called a black IPA, but I would compare it to Imperial Stouts...don’t know if they are the same or not. For all intents and purposes this is a stout to me. Burnt chocolate and coffee dominate, but pumped up with hops. I’m a big fan, but again I would never consider this to be an IPA.
