COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tommyknockers were mischievous elves who slipped into mining camps with the Cornish miners in the 1800s. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of Tommyknocker Brewery, this special brew is meticulously crafted with pure maple syrup, the highest quality chocolate and crystal malts and is accented with the finest blend of European and American hops. Imperial Nut Brown Ale is a bigger, bolder version of our wildly popular Maple Nut Brown.

This is an okay brown, but the nuttiness is overwhelmed by the maple flavor. Slick mouthfeel.

bottle. Light brown with small head. Quite sweet and boozy brown ale. A little too over the top for my taste. Reminiscent of rubbing alcohol.

Pours a dark brown with quickly fading head and not much lacing. Aroma is chocolate malty and slightly fruity. Taste is sweet, syrupy, molasses, some alcohol. Not very balanced, but not obviously high ABV either. This just wasn’t doing it for me.

Pours a very dark brown with no head. Minimal aroma: a bit of nuttiness and a hint of sweet alcohols. Rich maltiness is quickly replaced by alcohols and a bit too much hop bitterness which both linger, though they combine with a bit of coffee on the finish. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy with low/medium carbonation.

Bottle from Hop City - pours cola with a thin tan head. Aroma is artificial, boozy and alcohol. Got to say the added alcohol is not really helping this one. Disappointing.

12 oz bottle from a mix pack purchased in Estes Park. Brown and pretty clear with a tiny head that dissipates to nothing and leaves no lacing. The aroma is malty and sweet with maple syrup, brown sugar, nuts, caramel, alcohol and chocolate. Similar flavor, sweet, strong and malty. Medium to full body with soft carbonation and a very warming finish. A little over the top, I think the regular version is slightly better.

355ml bottle. Pours a deep mahogany copper, with a thin beige head. Malty aroma, chocolate, butterscotch, licorice, dried fruit. Off-dry, medium to full bodied, mid bitterness, slightly low CO2. Malty, almost cloying taste, fudge, chocolate, butterscotch, earth. Leaves an oily film on the palate, with a lingering, artificial bitterness. Nah. (2013-04-22)

Aroma is chocolate with hints of maple syrup. Pours very dark brown with a thin off white head. Taste is heavy chocolate malt with notes of maple. Finishes smooth with even more maple flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours brown with tan head. Smells roasty. Tastes malty, creamy, fruity and thick finish. Nice aftertaste. Pretty good, different.
