COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tommyknockers were mischievous elves who slipped into mining camps with the Cornish miners in the 1800s. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of Tommyknocker Brewery, this special brew is meticulously crafted with pure maple syrup, the highest quality chocolate and crystal malts and is accented with the finest blend of European and American hops. Imperial Nut Brown Ale is a bigger, bolder version of our wildly popular Maple Nut Brown.

12oz on 12/18/12 Pours a translucent brown with very little head. Aroma is so faint and mostly nutty. Taste is very nutty with a maple syrup finish and a bit of alcohol. There is potential for a nice syrupy quality to it but it feels a little watery due to the very light body.

12oz Bottle. The pour was a clear dark chestnut brown with an average (1-2 finger) light brown rocky head that mostly lasted throughout, reducing slowly down to a med cap with fair streaky lacing. The aroma was of a toasted biscuit malt, light resin hops and an earthy yeast with notes of molasses, coffee, maple syrup, a very light hint of chocolate and a moderate alcohol presence. The taste was malty sweet with a hint of molasses and a pinch of chocolate early on, progressing into a nice bitter sweet mildly roasty taste with a notes of coffee, maple syrup and a boozy alcohol ending. The flavor stuck around for a good long while after the swallow, with a nice roastiness and a strong boozy finish. Mouthfeel was almost medium in body and dry in texture with a somewhat mild carbonation. Overall this was a delicious brew with a malty sweetness that kind of compensated for the bold boozy presence. Yep, this one kind of makes you feel warm all over...

Pour from a 12oz bottle. Dark reddish brown ale with virtually no head. Aroma of chocolate and malt. Taste is sweet malt, chocolate, roasted grains, sweet from start through finish. A little boozey warming at then end. If you are in the mood for a sweet and strong brew, this is a good one.

Rich, malty aroma with a cheesy nip. Attractive pour with a foamy, light-catching head. A full-flavored, malty brew - coffee, a nice dose of hops, & maple syrup. There is a warming finish. The label says "flavored beer" on it - I hope that refers to the maple syrup (which is also on the label) and not to artificial flavorings.

Aroma was malty with a nice toasty sweet edge. Color was a dark brown with a tony caramel colored head. Taste is sweet and malty, maybe with a hint of the maple used (not extremely prominent). Pours an feels thick. Was surprised at the rating, this was a fun thick delicious beer.

Bottle from Total Wine into a pint glass. A little soy sauce and molasses in the flavor. Touch of vanilla and alcohol. Some cocoa texture but that is faint. Sugary and slightly floral aroma. There is a lot going on here but it is not all melding together in a coherent way unfortunately. The soy sauce, maple syrup overpowers a bit and drives everything else into the background.
