3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Body is a very dark brown, but shows as thoroughly ruby when held to light. The head is small and sightly off white. The aroma is caramel and a little vanilla. There is also some decent molasses and chocolate character. The taste is rich chocolate and maple. There is also some toffee and a bitter finish of dark chocolate. A decent brew, but overall, a little too sweet.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 oz bottle pours a clear brown with some floating particles, has a small light brown head that doesnít last long, leaves some lacing in my glass. Chocolate and caramel aromas, chocolate, coffee, nutty , brown sugar and maple flavors. Full bodied with a smooth and creamy mouthfeel, finishes on the sweet side, alcohol is very well hidden as this is dangerously drinkable.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thick, rich, malty aroma, almost nearly like a double-bock. My fist INBA, and its a good experience. Rich, malty flavor, hints of both cocoa and full of caramel flavor. A little thin in the finish, but not too distracting. More like a bock than a nut brown ale. Slightly sweet and pleasant.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAY 13, 2006 Deep garnett brown color with a soft small bead head and a fruity vanilla aroma. Rich chocolatey smokey taste of roasted malt. Borders on cloyingly sweet with alcohol warmth noticable after the swallow. Palate is somewhat clean with not much lingering taste; very little hop bitterness. Itís a faithful brown ale with a kick. Very good.

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep brown color with a slightly red tint and foamy off-white head - a mouth-watering, explosive aroma of caramel, toffee, maple syrup, grain and nuttiness - medium bodied with a somewhat tingly mouthfeel - sweet, but moderately grainy and hoppy, giving it a kind of breakfast cereal with honey in it kind of flavor - finished a little thin and alcoholic - something different thatís worth a shot, but the aroma is as good as it gets.

Tap @ 16th Colorado Brewfest. Pours dark chocolate with nut brown hints and a tall tan head. Chocolate coffee and toffee aromas mingle gently with roasted malt nose. Sweet caramel malt and chocolate toffee flavor with a slight hop end. Creamy full bodied palate.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark brown with a tight off-white head that dimishes to nothing. Smells sweet and nutty with a slight singe of alcohol. Flavor is slightly chocolate with nuts with a sweet maple aftertaste. A little alcohol kick in the end but a lot less than the 10% would suggest. Surprisingly easy to drink.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 6, 2005 Happy 10th Anniversary, TK. This pours a deep, dark mahogany with a creamy tan head that stays on hand for the duration. It has a rich, chocolate, malt, and maple aroma with hints of the abv to come. Itís both creamy and hot in the mouth. The flavor is quite sweet, malty and syrupy with a dose of chocolate and a good splash of alcohol. The hops shine out right at the end of the finish, all earthy and bitter. TK should add this to their regular line-up.

Gold foiled bomber. This was an impulse buy as the unusual style (Imperial Nut Brown as the bottle lists) seemed interesting. The pour was a mahogany brown. It appeared viscous and a small off-white head developed. The aroma was of sweet crystal malt, maple syrup and bread. Flavor was similar though the maple wasnít as apparent in the flavor as in the aroma. It was fairly sweet and one dimensional. The malt flavor wasnít anything great and almost no hop flavor or bitterness came through. The alcohol was quite tame for 10% though. I also would have like a roasted character to it, even if slight. To be an american strong, it would need a signifcant helping of hops I feel. Anyways, it was decent but more of an underhopped, uncomplex barleywine.

22 oz. Not a style Iíd heard of before. Smells exceptionally sweet. Flavor isnít very roasty, as Iíd hoped for. Not too much to the malt -- just a sweet brown malt. Maple syrup is notable, but not overpowering. Boring and sweet.
