crzybob77 (519), Richmond, Virginia, USA Dec 31, 2006 Wow, darn good beer. Very smooth mouthfeel with extremely well hidden alcohol. I get a lot of caramel and chocolate flavors. Very drinkable. I would guess this is more around 6-7% alochol.
blankboy (2711), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 5, 2009 Bottle (650ml) shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, GregClow & tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a very deep ruby-orange with a small diminishing off-white head. Mild aroma of malt, nuts and light green hops. Flavour’s sweet, malty and musty along with some very light hops, nuts and alcohol. Average bodied. Disappointing, it’s O.K. but I expected better. daknole (1268), Plantation, Florida, USA Dec 27, 2008 Bottle. brown pour. Aroma of nuts, syrup, brown sugar and nice malt. Flavor is sweet and rich with some nice maple syrup notes. Nice damn beer. fonefan (6078), Ulfborg, Denmark Dec 21, 2008 Bottle 355ml.
Clear medium to dark brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, nutty, caramel, chocolate. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (060808) jvmiller (316), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Dec 20, 2008 Alcohol was well hidden, but that was about the only memorable thing about it. Very sweet, but no flavors that jump out. Just blah. brewski519 (77), Morrisville, North Carolina, USA Dec 19, 2008 Pours a dark mahogany with a fast disappearing tan head. Nutty, caramel, maple aroma. Tastes a much stronger version of its little brother, Maple Nut Brown ale. Definitely picked up the alcohol taste more so in this version. Still pretty tasty but would not drink more than about 1 or 2 of these in one sitting due to the sweetness and the alcohol.
