1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
A little on the sweet side, from the maple. Not my cup of tea, (or beer). Only 4.5%, but drinks a little stronger than that.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very unusual color -- dark and cloudy, darker than I expected. Not much head nor lacing. Understated aroma, slightly sweet, Delicious taste though, not overly maple, but you can definitely taste it. No bitterness, good beer.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
FROM NOTES: July 1, í12
Beer poured from bottle into a pint glass.
A: Sweet maple syrup and a nutty roasted malt flavor; brown sugar notes.
A: Beer pours with a dark brown, opaque body without much visible carbonation. Head was small, about a finger in size and quickly dissipated into little to no lacing.
T: Starts off with a nice sweet maple syrup, which quickly bridges into a nut-packed roasted malt flavor; brown sugar and some faint notes of pear to finish.
P: Thin body; low carbonation; creamy/syrupy feel at first, then quickly fades away; semi-sweet aftertaste, sugar lingers for a while
O: Super sweet; nice maple syrup & nut brown combination. Serving type: bottle

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Dec. 2010. Pours a slick, oil mahogany with little head. Aroma is similar to liquid malt extract and little else. Flavor is sticky sweet maple syrup and malt extract. Light syrup is the predominant flavor here. Slightly oily with syrup flavor in the finish. A bit one dimensional, as the maple syrup sweetness is dominant, but itís a soft enough sweetness to be better than I was expecting.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours brown with rapidly settling, fine khaki head, no lacing. Aroma is fairly sweet, malty, nutty, toffee with a mildly roasted finish. Soft carbonation, light body, a little underwhelming on the mouthfeel. A mild, drinkable, nutty ale. Drinkable but could be much bigger, bolder.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The beer pours okay with a nice reddish brown hue, mild white head, and minimal lacing. The smells okay with mild notes of caramel, chocolate, and a nutty scent (smells like pecans). The beer tastes decently with a nice blend of caramel and sweet maple at first, then moves into the nutty chocolate taste. The mouthfeel is okay with a mild chocolate taste and okay carbonation. Overall, this beer is average, not bad but not good either. It has some good qualities and lacks in other areas too.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, tasted 2 months before best by date. Pretty beer, pours light brown, head nice but disappears fast. Roasted nutty malt aroma, just a bit of maple. Hops in the background. Finish was quite dry. Definitely not bad as a session beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Best by March 25th, 2013 (A bit over a month old). Poured into Samuel Adams Perfect Pint glass.
Appearance: A nice, ruby brown color with a few particles floating around in there. A finger worth of head that doesnít last long, leaving minimal lacing.
Smell: Smells just like the name describes -- maple nut brown. Maple syrup is definitely in the nose, with nutty aromas, and the dark malts blend with it all nicely. The smell on this beer is solid.
Taste/feel: On the front, the maple sweetness comes through. Near the end it fades away, and the aftertaste is a somewhat nutty, sweet, malt flavor. Itís not an exceptional beer, but itís still better than some seem to be giving it credit for. The first few sips gave me an iron-like aftertaste, but it has since gone away. The feel is pretty smooth with light-ish carbonation, making this an easy beer to drink quite a bit of.
Surprised by this beer, to be honest. Itís not FANTASTIC, but itís a solid beer from a brewery I hadnít heard of before buying the bottle. Itís a slightly above average nut brown ale with some characteristics of maple syrup. If thatís your bag, definitely try it out. And considering Iím having this beer a month past its drink-by date, it could only (at least) be slightly better fresh. At a measly 20 IBUs, this could be a great beer for somebody that doesnít like to drink anything other than Bud Light because they think it all just tastes "bitter."

3.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A good, but great beer, yet a unique taste with the maple syrup added good head, decent lacing. Wish it smelled better, though.
