A delicate amount of Maple syrup is added to each barrel of our award winning Maple Nut Brown Ale to impart roasted sweetness. This addition balances the nut flavor produced by Munich caramel and chocolate malts used in the brewhouse, producing a drinkable dark amber ale with a relatively low alcohol content. 2000 World Beer Cup Gold Medal & 1996 Great American Beer Festival Bronze Medal Winner

A little on the sweet side, from the maple. Not my cup of tea, (or beer). Only 4.5%, but drinks a little stronger than that.

Just numeral ratings due to social interaction. Yes, there is still some. Even though smart phones exist.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours nut brown with a fizzy beige head. Tastes like nutty malt, sweet maple, syrup, and corn. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like nutty malt, sweet syrup, and maple.

Bottle. Reddish brown with small beige foamy head, malt aroma, low carbonation, slightly sweet caramel taste with nut flavor, thin body, abrupt finish. Quite watery but drinkable.

Pours a dark bronze color. Poured aggressively and still no head. Itís very clear.

Smells great. Nice nutty aroma. I smell some chocolate, I smell coffee. I smell nuts. I smell sweetness. Is it maple, I dunno....I also smell some roasted malt.

Taste is somewhat of a let down. I taste all of the above mentioned stuff, but itís so watery, so thin, itís disappointing. Itís sweet. It tastes a little nutty. This is a little under performing however.

Mouthfeel is very watery. Extremely watery. Itís not at all what I expect a brown ale to be. The mouthfeel leaves a lot to be desired. Itís so thin and light, itís really not even desirable. Itís barely drinkable.

Overall, ití a huge let down. Think of this as a brown ale light. While the nuts and the malts are tasty, the body of the beer is so thin, itís makes the beer bad. I would not recommend this.

Draught at the Tommyknocker, Helsinki, Finland. Reddish brown colour with a tiny off-white head. Roasted malt, nuts, sweetness, nougat and dryness in the aroma. The flavour is dry nuts, nougat, chestnut, malt and some sweetness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught. Brown in color, tin whitish head. Nutty notes in aroma, light sweetness too. Sweet syrupy and nutty taste. Pretty mild though.

(Keg at Tommyknocker, Helsinki, 20150523) The beer poured mahogany coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had caramel, sweetness, burnt sugar and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, molten sugar, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, sweet and bitter. A too sweet and still harsh brew.

A small taste on tap @ Tommyknocker Craft Beer Bar. Pours clear deep amber with a low head. Aroma is malts with nutty notes. Pretty similar flavor. A bit disappointing.
