COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A delicate amount of Maple syrup is added to each barrel of our award winning Maple Nut Brown Ale to impart roasted sweetness. This addition balances the nut flavor produced by Munich caramel and chocolate malts used in the brewhouse, producing a drinkable dark amber ale with a relatively low alcohol content. 2000 World Beer Cup Gold Medal & 1996 Great American Beer Festival Bronze Medal Winner

Color is a clearing brown/red with a small head. Aroma is very light and sweet. Taste is a little smoked and edges around sweet. A tiny bit of malt. Palate is very frothy. Nothing special, but not bad.

bottle. Brown with small head. Malty with caramel and nut. Moderate maple. What you’d expect from the name of the beer. Flavors go together well. Unexciting though.

My first beer! I tried this as a young-un, and I fell in love with the flavor instantly. I think anyone interested in a good first-time craft beer should check this out.

On tap at Steakout Saloon. Appearance: kahaki head, finger of head, amber brown, clear. Aroma: maple syrup, toast, chocolate, candied bacon, light smoke. Palate: medium to full body, average carbonation, creamy texture. Taste: cloying malty sweetness. Overall, not balanced at all and not enjoyable. Dislike

Horrible beer. Not sure what went wrong here but I guess it is Tommy knocker and I haven’t had anything really good from them.

Bottle: Hazy brown with red highlights...short, off-white head. Maple syrup and nut aroma. Sweet, smooth nutty flavor with maple hints. Rich, sweet. Not overtly maple, but a good, solid brown ale.... Tasty.

12 oz bottle from Giant Eagle in Shadyside. Expected more flavor --- hard to find the maple underneath everything else. Not bad, but could nave been better.
