COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A delicate amount of Maple syrup is added to each barrel of our award winning Maple Nut Brown Ale to impart roasted sweetness. This addition balances the nut flavor produced by Munich caramel and chocolate malts used in the brewhouse, producing a drinkable dark amber ale with a relatively low alcohol content. 2000 World Beer Cup Gold Medal & 1996 Great American Beer Festival Bronze Medal Winner

Bottle. Sweet aroma, with definite maple notes. Brown body, small head. Flavor is a disappointment, compared to the aroma. Overly mild, although not unpleasant.

You would expect a flavor explosion, but this is anything but. The nuttiness is barely discernible and the maple is only a hint.

Pours dark brown, nice creamy head. Nose of milk chocolate, walnuts, and coffee. Has a great malty flavor, chocolate, sweet maple, and light body. Nice beer!

EtTuCthulhu (464) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - JUN 10, 2013
The aroma is reminiscent of nutty and toasted malts, vanilla, and maple, and the appearance is a clear brown color with an off-white head that fades from a small size to a mere ring. The taste is mildly sweet and a touch umami, and the palate combines a medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation, and a slightly sweet finish.

Deep reddish copper brown in color with a little off white head. Caramel malty aroma. Toasty biscuity notes. Light hoppy dark caramel flavor. Dry finish. Medium bodied. Nice tasting beer. Very easy to drink.

Bottle from TWM Sterling - Well I liked this one better than the imperial version, but that’s not saying much. It’s average, but not spectacular.

12 oz bottle. Amber-brown with ruby hues and clear with an off-white head that lasts and laces the glass. Pretty mild aroma of caramel, nuts, chocolate, brown sugar and sweet bready malts. Similar flavor. Light thin body with a soft feel and a touch of maple syrup in the finish. Decent, pretty easy to drink.

Pours reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma is toast, maple syrup and caramel. Taste is sweet throughout. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a clear light brown body with a minimal fizzy off-white head that fell quickly to a thin film. The nose is on the sweeter side, some light brown sugar, toasted malt, a little huskiness, and some maple sugar. The flavor is pretty similar, a little sweeter than I card for because of the maple sugar notes. Toasted and slightly nutty malt with a touch of lightly roasted coffee on the finish. Lighter bodied with light fizzy carbonation. Lingering sweet finish. Not the best or most exciting brown ale, but then again, there aren’t many of those out there.

Pours brown with a beige head. Slightly sweet on the nose, but didn’t really catch the maple. Hint of maple into the mouth with a subtle sweetness. Very smooth through the swallow without much bitterness. Good session beer. Overall, I really liked it and would have again.

bottle. Pours dark brown with a very thin head. Smells of sweet maple syrup are all I can detect. Flavor is very plain. Not much of a brown ale, and not much of anything else yet it goes down smooth. This brew is really hard to describe yet there isn’t anything memorable about it. Slight hints of maple and caramel are present. A beer that most could drink without problem but people looking for more complex flavors should look elsewhere.
