3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Heathen (1386) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - APR 18, 2013
THOUGHTS: Decent beer, but I don’t know if I would have guessed it was a pumpkin beer. Flavorful and easy to drink, but a little watery in body.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a medium brown with red highlights when held to light and an average, tan head that kept a decent sheet and left fair lacing.
The aroma had moderate caramel, molasses, chocolate and roasted malts; light herbal hops; hints of pumpkin pie spices; cola, slight sour pumpkin and vegetal pumpkin. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and slightly bitter; while the finish was heavily sweet, slightly sour and lightly bitter with a short duration. Overall, it was a little watered down. There was molasses, caramel, roasted malts, cola, and a little sour pumpkin. The medium body was watery with soft, yet tingly carbonation and a dry and lightly astringent finish.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lemke10 (544) - Janesville, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 18, 2012
This pumpkin brew pours a medium brown color with a slight off-white head. The aroma is somewhat reminiscent of Libby’s pumpkin filling out of a can. There is more of an Oktoberfest taste to this brew rather than pumpkin. Lots of harvest spices hit your taste buds. Also, getting a little bit of that molasses too in the taste with only hints of pumpkin. Not a great pumpkin beer but also not bad, so the average rating this beer has is appropriate. Depending on the pumpkin brews in you area, this may be worth a try!
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jhbeer (43) - - DEC 9, 2012
Dark brown with a cream colored head that faded quickly. Scent is a bit sweet malt, some roastiness, some pumpkin, a bit of spice and a tad of hops. Quite sweet at first, light spices and molasses make quite an impression with a bit of the pumpkin and roastiness coming in with some hops at the end. Medium palate. A tasty ale altogether.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Beerman6686 (3186) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 29, 2012
This poured a dark amer color with an off white head. Aroma was of spices, mainly clover and cinnamon, and toasted malt. Flavor was toasted malt and caramel, with light spicing, but not too over the top. An ok pumpkin.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Drake (6594) - Ivy, Virginia, USA - NOV 23, 2012
12 ounce bottle from Total Wine Virginia Beach. Pours a dark rust color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of caramel, pumpkin, apples and that molasses really comes through. The taste is earthy notes, pumpkin, brown sugar, faint hops and a spicy finish. Medium bodied. Nice beer.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 KajII (710) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - NOV 17, 2012
12oz Bottle. The pour was a clear burnt orange with an average (1-2 finger) light brown fluffy head that had OK retention, reducing slowly to a thin film and small collar with good sheets of sticky lacing
The aroma was on the mild side, with a toasted grain malt and an earthy doughy yeast and had notes of nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, a touch of brown sugar and of course pumpkin.
The taste was very lightly sweet and a tad malty with notes of brown sugar and pumpkin from the get go, and then took on an almost stale bitterness and had a mild spicy finish. The flavor was most definitely short in duration with not much left behind but a slight hint of spices.
Mouthfeel was light in body and watery in texture with a decently mild carbonation.
Overall this was a light tasting Pumpkin Ale, which did possess a decent drinkability but was pretty much nothing special...

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 DiarmaidBHK (2386) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 15, 2012
Bottle from ABC Fort Lauderdale. Another mediocre effort from Tommyknocker. Pours brown with a thin khaki head. pumpkin and spice on the nose but it has a bit of an artificial vibe to it. A bit of molasses on the tongue but not much else. Just very boring.
