1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
This looked a little too dark and had the slight smell of caramel apples and sulfur. It felt oily going down and tasted like no other Bitter I’ve encountered. The malt and hop profile was overpowered by the sickening flavor of dark fruits and a sourness akin to prune flavored Now and Later candy. Pretty bottle. Pretty awful.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Serving: 500 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors. Murky red pour with almost no head. Caramel aroma with a hint of paper and florals. Bready flavor with a little caramel sweetness. Odd, earthy bitterness. Light to medium body. Not worth seeking out.

Bottle from California Heights opened @ Lost Abbey’s parking lot. Amber pour with a white head. Aromas of caramel, butterscotch, grass, and cardboard. Very light floral hops. Flavor is heavy on the cardboard and butterscotch. Toast, bread, and some caramel. Subtle bitterness and floral hops.

Bottled, 500ml from Stans Nisa, Llangollen. Brown amber with short lived white head. Highly carbonated pasteurised beer, there is a caramel sweetness to begin with, boiled bready notes with a cabbage type flavour. Some bitterness later on from an indistinct malt. Not great.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From Ricoh Tesco. Brilliant pale ruby with a dimpled off white collar. Aroma of mouldering fruit, sticky driptrays, stale old beer, cereals. Flavour Weetabix, some Shep-like jellied hop fruit; chestnut, digestives, wisp of smoke linger. Some decent dry roasted malt nuttiness in there. Not bad for a pasteurised (?) supermarket bitter.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
A little bitter but pretty plain. Not getting much from the aroma. The pour is pretty standard murky copper with no head or lacing. The taste is very generic until the touch of bitterness in the end. Drinkable but certainly forgettable!
