1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 HoppityHop (158) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 28, 2012This looked a little too dark and had the slight smell of caramel apples and sulfur. It felt oily going down and tasted like no other Bitter I’ve encountered. The malt and hop profile was overpowered by the sickening flavor of dark fruits and a sourness akin to prune flavored Now and Later candy. Pretty bottle. Pretty awful.

From Ricoh Tesco. Brilliant pale ruby with a dimpled off white collar. Aroma of mouldering fruit, sticky driptrays, stale old beer, cereals. Flavour Weetabix, some Shep-like jellied hop fruit; chestnut, digestives, wisp of smoke linger. Some decent dry roasted malt nuttiness in there. Not bad for a pasteurised (?) supermarket bitter.

A little bitter but pretty plain. Not getting much from the aroma. The pour is pretty standard murky copper with no head or lacing. The taste is very generic until the touch of bitterness in the end. Drinkable but certainly forgettable!

Jun 2012 - standard bitter, easy drinking. Dec 2012 - bottle. Mild, with a disappointingly watery finish. A bit of a margerine flavour. Very easy drinking, no real complaints.

Translates as "That’s Lovely!" in English and it is. It’s a very healthy textured and tasty golden ale with a fine mild maltness in its aftertaste.
