3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 SHANER4 (434) - Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 10, 2009bottle - Poured murky brownish yellow color with thick foaming head that quickly faded.
Aroma - caramel apples and sweet pears.
Flavor - tasted like the aroma... apples, pears and some sweet caramel malt.
Palate - Light/medium bodied with average carbonation. Goes down easy and finish is somewhat bitter.
Overall - I am actually surprised by this beer. Paid $1 for this beer and liked it. Its nothing that great but easy to drink and very cheap!!
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 davidm (1773) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAR 8, 2013
Bottle from K&G. Nice malty ale. Aromas of caramel, nuts, with hints of liquorice. Taste is sweet, with light bitteness, and average length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Brown, with a frothy head.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ComradeK (731) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - DEC 30, 2012
500ml bottle. Pours a clear copper amber, with a small off-white head, which does not last very well, but leaves reasonable lace. The aromas has some candied fruit and toffee notes and faint floral hops. Floral hops up front lead into some plum and candied fruit notes. Toffee comes in towards the finish. A sweeter-style bitter, but nevertheless a very satisfying beer at the end of a very long day.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BlackHaddock (2350) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 2, 2012
Brown 500ml bottle, by Hurns Brewery, same address as above, but a brewery name change?
Drank on 25th March 2009, best before the end of May 2009. Poured into UK pint sleeve glass.
Bright and clear amber coloured body with a huge foaming off-white head. Plenty of carbonisation, well loads of bubbles rising through the beer anyway. Lighter in colour than I expected (old style bitter just made me think dark and musty).
Good malty, beery aroma. It may well be Welsh but it has all the hall marks of a good English Bitter, yeast and hops can also be sniffed as you drink this very pleasant beer.
Good flavours, of all things beery. This ale tastes like an ale, crisp, refreshing and clean. Wheat has been used, but I couldn’t detect any, just malted barley on the grain front.
Very drinkable and one of the best beers I’ve had from Wales, ever.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 wlajwl (2893) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - FEB 11, 2012
Aroma is complex fruit and malty, similar to an ESB. The flavor is similar to the aroma with a hint of nuttiness, and a decent hoppy finish. Solid ale, close to an ESB in flavor.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DrnkMcDermott (2621) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - MAY 15, 2011
Half litre bottle, $2 closeout @ Binny’s, Bolingbrook. I can only guess one of Binny’s distributors is shedding some brands from their portfolio, but this gives me a chance to try my first REAL Welch beer—InBev brewing Murphy’s Irish Stout there hardly worth counting. Fruity smell under the cap that I didn’t expect in a bitter. In glass it has an alcohol smell, bit of cough drop, so this may be a bit old. Light brown color, filtered clear, under a thin head. First thing I notice upon tasting is that there’s low carbonation, per style. Fruity ale taste. Despite the alcohol smell, there’s no burn on the tongue. Certainly a nice pub drink. Some citrus that may come from hop, or a bit of staling. Certainly worth revisiting if I get a chance.

This was a pretty nice bitter that I enjoyed watching the Jets beat the Patriots. MMM tasty.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Braudog (5025) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - OCT 31, 2010
Bottle. Pours just like the excellent photo, orange-amber with a nice creamy top. The aroma is caged up, I think, barely discernible. The beer drinks with a distinct breadiness, thick like a slice of pumpernickel, musty and gamey. Quite the drinkable bitter. (#4006, 10/31/2010)
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 rubbishystuff (1564) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 5, 2010
