A copper coloured beer with the aroma of honey. It has a full and smooth flavour and a soft, flowing aftertaste.

An authentic abbey ale
The age-old tradition of the White Canons of Tongerlo lives on in this officially recognised Belgian abbey ale.

Re-fermented in the bottle
Re-fermentation in the bottle gives the beer a more intense taste and aroma as well as a longer shelf life.

It has roughly persistent foam, and the promising scent of coriander and malt. Coriander in flavor, light acidity, light touch of wheat malts fresh grain taste and a malt sweetness that has a little bit of honey in the luggage. It is hopped in the light end of the scale, and it should also be, in order not to dominate the overall image which should be malt, cereal and sweetness.

Espuma blanquecina que se va disipando y solo se mantiene como una fina corona, color dorado, rico y dulce aroma en nariz, sabor suave y regusto permanente

A 330ml bottle with a best before end date of 4th June 2016 and poured into a D’Achouffe tulip glass. It poured a slightly hazy copper colour with a huge three finger head. Most of it dissipated within a minute but it left some thick lacing on the glass. Some aroma of slight funk at first followed by some fruity banana and apples, caramel and honey. Bread and cracker malt aromas also show as it warms. Flavour is sweet banana and honey first, but there’s definitely candied sugar, bubblegum and caramel mixed in. Medium bodied, medium to high carbonation, sticky. This was not bad but perhaps slightly too sweet for me. Leffe is also a tad too sweet for me, but I still may prefer Leffe slightly more.

Drink cold: 8-10°C Eye: Pours an amber to rusty color with medium to heavy carbonation and a not to quickly dissipating white head. Nose: sweet yeast, honeydew and wheat. Fruity as well Mouth: berries. a bit metallic. Palate: light caramel malts. Honey oat. Wheat/rye/barley (almost whole grain) and hazelnuts. Overall: Downside: a bit metallic. Upside: not as much alcohol what leads to enjoying more beers and really getting the taste out of the beer not overshadowed by alcoholic notes or just delirious smells/substances.

Don't know whether bottle had gone off but tasted pretty horrible. Bought from Fusion Supermarket in HK. Golden colour with big white head. Yeasty bread-like aroma, touch of soap. Taste is just dryness. Slightly soapy, metallic tinge. One dimensional and not at all tasty. Like drinking soapy water. Couldn't finish it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0.5l can from Géant Casino. "World’s Best Beer 2014" according to World Beer Awards. pours clear golden colour with a good white head and some lacing. aroma sweet malts, caramel, spices, banana. flavour yeast, grains, prunes, spices. a hint of citrusy hops in the beginning. low carbonation. oily texture. alcohol barely noticeable, despite 6% abv. not sure about world’s best, but quite decent overall.
