On draught everywhere in Belgium it seemed. Starting to compete with Jupiler for sign dominance. Rich creamy head, reddish brown color, fairly sweet. Light roasted malty flaovrs. Woody duration. Not too bad.

Found this beer to be very average. Pours an ugly brown colour with a large tan head. The taste is very flat with a bit of caramel and earthiness to it. I wouldn’t buy this again but If someone offered this to me I would’t refuse to drink it either.

F: big, pale brown, average retention. C: dark, dark red tones against the light, clear. A: malty, fruity, cherries, plums, hint of chocolate, candy sugar, raisins. T: malt, dark fruity notes, hint of chocolate, candy sugar, grassy bitterness, toast, medium body, normal carbonation, hint of yeast, nothing special but good balanced and tasty abbey dubbel, 0,33l bottle from Colruyt in Brussels.

Double d’abbaye reconnue, titrant à 6,5 % abv.

Pours deep brown with a huge head. Musty, slightly metallic banana nose and soured, creamy bananas to taste. Fairly full bodied but lightened by the carbonation. Flavourful and sprightly.

Small sample from tap. Clear deep brown color. Off white, creamy and rocky head, good lacing. Aroma’s: caramle, dark sugar, red fruit. Retronasal the red fruit is upfront, with brown sugar more subdued. Flavor is moderate sweet, caramel. Medium bodied. Finishes light herbal, light bitter. Rather boring, but decent.

A 330ml bottle with a best before date of 7th November 2016 and poured into a Chimay goblet glass. It poured a reddish brown colour with a one finger beige head that had good retention and settled down to a creamy puffy layer with good lacing. Aromas of light plum, banana and some metal mineral-ness. Taste started pretty decent with plum, brown sugar, raisin, caramel and banana. But for some reason, the finish is a little watery. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. Overall, looks great, but the minerally aroma and the watery finish didn’t help the beer.
