A brown beer with a sweet aroma that has a full flavour and a lightly roasted aftertaste.

An authentic abbey ale
The age-old tradition of the White Canons of Tongerlo lives on in this officially recognised Belgian abbey ale.

Re-fermented in the bottle
Re-fermentation in the bottle gives the beer a more intense taste and aroma as well as a longer shelf life.

On draught everywhere in Belgium it seemed. Starting to compete with Jupiler for sign dominance. Rich creamy head, reddish brown color, fairly sweet. Light roasted malty flaovrs. Woody duration. Not too bad.

Una dubbel molto beverina. Non troppo alcolica e ben strutturata. Non troppo luppolata, come nello stile, leggermente acidula

Cerveza de color caoba oscuro. Sabor y olor dulce, con notas a azucar moreno, miel de caña. Cuerpo medio y con gas medio. Mejor no beber demasiado fria. Una cerveza de calidad media.

A sweet aroma, which reminds me of ripe banana’s and dry cookies. also in the taste I get some accents of banana and in the aftertaste a little bit of pure chocolate.

It has a beautiful dark ruby color witness good head retention, but it doesn’t have any aroma or flavor. I don’t know what happened, it is like water with a very subtle bitter aftertaste.

Een lekker donker bier dat niet zwaar is, maar vlot wegdrinkt. Niet slecht.

Dark brown with small tan head. Aroma is mellow. some vanilla, sweet caramel, licorice, metal and Belgian yeasty spice. spritzy palate. Aftertaste is licorice, spice, caramel, red fruit and lingering licorice finish. Overall: A well brewed and easy drinking Belgian. I would like a lower carbonation and more taste.

Botella de 330ml. Copa Cáliz. Brota con color marrón y tintes rubí a contraluz. Corona bronceada, capa tupida y bastante persistente. Desequilibrada. 330ml bottle. Chalice glass. Pours brown while showing ruby tints to the light. Close crown, tan in color, shows fairly good retention. Candy, toffee & slight woody aromas, hints of anise & chocolate, wet cloth odor & intense solvent-like notes to the nose. Toasted & sugary upfront touched by cinnamon & acidic hues. Medium body. Moderately high carbonation. Spicy & sparkling mouthfeel. Toffee & plum flavors linger into a dry bitter/sweet finish & brief fruity aftertaste. Unbalanced.
