rederic (2896) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 16, 2007
Slight hazy honey gold hue, with an off-white head, leaving a ring foam, yeasty, with subtle strange sulfiric smokiness of burnt matches, with a fruity note of ripe apple, a nutmeg spicinees in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity character, with some sweet pale malts, ripe apple fruitiness, a spicy vanilla and nutmeg accent, a touch of honey, a bit corny, a mellow mouthfeel, leading towards a spicy, sweet corny, and a faint hop dryness finish.

Bottle: Poured a hazy orange amber with a long lasting creamy head. Smell was of fruit and hops. Taste was sweet and fruit. Not overly impressive for a Christmas beer.

150ml from bottle at Belgobaren in Stockholm. Light amber body with some white foam. Sweet aroma that reminds me of sherrycobbler. A lots of sweet, dark fruits in flavour. Tends to be a bit too sweet (03.12.2006).

Draught. Golden color with a small white head. Fruity sweet caramellish aroma with hints of hops. Flavour is of honey, malts, hops and a bit fruits too. A bit papery hints also. Aftertaste mainly papery and hoppish fruity. Quite dry.

Bottle. White high head. Hazy orange body. Fruity malt aroma and flavor without the expected sweetnes. Not very hoppy though as the malt flavor is dominant.
