Bottle 33cl. It pours a nice hazy copper beer with a whitish head. The nose is of corn, vanilla, glue and banana. Quite yeasty. Vanilla, bubblegum, yeast and malt in the taste with an underlying alcoholic presence. Sweet and slightly spicy. Soft mouthfeel. The finish is yeasty with hints of honey.

Tap @ YNWA, Kolding. Pours a clear golden with a small creamy white head. Aroma is sweet malty with a slight dose of spicyness. Quite full and round mouthfeel. Sweet taste with flavours of ginger, anise and vanilla. Nice and good - quite refreshing for a Belgian Christmas beer.

It says blonde on the bottle, but it is bordering on ambré. Nice and spicy, including vanilla. But the label says maize, too, which makes my alarm bells ring. I doubt there is real vanilla, too. Minus for cheating!

(33cl bottle) Hazy, golden colour with a fluffy, slowly lacing, tanned foamy head. Moderately sweet malty, yeasty and fruity aroma. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, malty and yeasty, subtle honey-fruity taste with a rather slim body; slightly fizzy on the palate; sweet and yeasty bitter finish with a tinge of alcohol.

A lightly hazed golden orange ale with a thick creamy big bubbled white head. Aroma of caramel, light orange peels, and coriander. In mouth, a very pleasant sweet malt, with notes of hops and curacao, medium bodied. Bieropholie import. BB 28-01-08

Clear golden pour with yeast in suspension and a medium white head. The aroma is dominated by a strong and peppery yeast. The flavor is also focused on the peppery yeast, there are some spices and sweetness too but they’re backstage, allowing the yeast to do the show. The body is medium with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. It’s not a bad beer but it’s nothing like a Christmas beer.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2008 Almost clear golden body topped by a large-bubbles-filled large white head with medium retention. Aroma of spices and synthetic pine-tree (like Pine Sol or something). Large amount of peppery spices leaving an overall impression of minerals. Some sweet malts and some fruity notes (apple and orange peels) and dominated by the peppery spices. Medium oily body with a lively carbonation. Finish is oily and peppery and yes, Pine Sol. Not very good but certainly not boring. I’ve had many Christmas beers in my life and this one is as true to the Christmas tradition as… eh… Hanukkah.
