Sten (674) - Westerlo, BELGIUM - JUL 16, 2005
UPDATED: MAR 6, 2013 Amber-golden coloured beer with the taste of oranges and malt, there is a sence of citrus and spices. But not one of my favourites. (Bottle 33cl) (Bottle 33cl aged 4 years, aroma 7/10, appearance 4/5, flavor 8/10, palate 4/5, overall impression 15/20. This makes a total of 3.8. Not bad at all. Thanks to the innkeeper of ’het kafeeke’ at Heultje for giving me this bottle.) New rating. Sweet and malty aroma, flavour is also sweet, malty and spicy. (Bottle 33cl)

Papsoe (25083) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 16, 2005
(Bottle 33 cl) Dark golden with a soft and very lasting head. Very close to the "Tongelo Dubbel Blond" which must be the base of this with some minor alterations in the recipe. A lovely velvety soft mouthfeel and a less sharp bitterness. 261097

schuimkroaat (423) - Leuven, BELGIUM - MAY 1, 2005
33cl bottle, - out of date- bbe 8th Feb 05. Orval-coloured, turbid, small head. Malt with some peach, and unmistakeably alcohol in the aroma. Flat, rubbery and with a strange bitterness. Aging apparently does not improve this beer, will try a fresh version again (which I remember as being somewhat better).

Bottle. Dark golden colour with a big white head. Light spicy yeasty aroma and a sweet fruity light alcoholic taste. Medium body and a sweet alcoholic finish.

Amber color with a white head. The taste is sweet with a nice fruityness. Very light dry spices on the palate.

aspidites (1272) - manteca, California, USA - MAR 6, 2005
the best balanced of the Tongerlo beers. Nice yeast spice notes with good malt balance a just a hint of alcohol. light candy and toffe flavors predominate with a slightly acidic bitterness.

MilkmanDan (1943) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - FEB 19, 2005
Very chunky stuff. Looooots of floaties evenly suspended throughout the beer. Nose quite yeasty, bit tart, an odd spicy-mintiness as well. Nice flavor, very buttery and full, lots of yeasty chewiness. Slightly tart and fruity with orange and strawberries.

Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 17, 2005
Orange color with cloudy apearance, big bubbled white head. Spicy, mildly yeasty and fruity aroma with mild alcohol. Sweet, fruity, mildly spicy flavor, ends with dry and mildly alcoholic aftertaste.

Jeppe (2631) - Ølbutikken, DENMARK - JAN 6, 2005
Clear orange colored, fizzy off-white head. Yeast and fruit penetrates the aroma with tones of straw. Quite sweet and syrupy. Flavor is bittersweet malty and hayish with sweet fruity notes and a touch of alcohol. The taste is all right, but generally I find these blonds to sharp and rather unbalanced. It is probably just not my style of beer.....

TBone (12991) - Pori, FINLAND - DEC 29, 2004
Bottled (BB 02/2005)
Hazy orange-brown color with lots of CO2. Good foamy off-white head, lace. Aroma is malty, slightly fruity with grapefruit and raisins. Carbonated, quite dry mouthfeel. Quite thin bodied with hints of toffee, malts and alcohol. Dry oaky finish.
