Niet zo sterke geur. Lekker fris, gelukkig maar want her is bloedheet bij de pubquiz. Donker koper, dun maar dekkend schuim.

Copenhagen 13/11 2014. 75 cl bottle from FaktaQuick. Pours clear reddish brown with white head. Dissipates rather quickly. Spicy malty aroma tinged with alcohol. Medium carbonation. Intense sweet taste in the traditional yeasty Belgian style with a little sourness especially in the aftertaste. Good Belgian Christmas beer.

Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel. The beer is amber colored and has a long staying small white head, with average carbonation. The beer has an aroma with tones of spices, fruits and hops. The taste is a little sweet with tones of candy sugar and some some hoppy bitterness in the background. The finish is a little dry and medium bitter. Not what I expect from a Christmas Ale. I miss the warming alcohol and the full body.

Bottle @home. Pours light copper with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is metallic, fruity. Taste hints of caramel, fruity, bit metallic.

33cl bottle. Clear amber colour with a thick white head. Peach, yeast and caramel in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is a bit boring more on the sweet side. Overall, a nice beer but hardly for Christmas.

Alengrin (2742) - BELGIUM - DEC 15, 2014
Tasted many years ago, so this rating is from old notes; amber coloured, hazy beer with medium thick, yellowish white head; yeasty and caramelly, some peachy and slightly orangey fruitiness, sweetish, malt sweet with spicy hints and mild herbal hop bitterish finish, a bit metallic. Didn’t like it that much and this is not what you’d expect from a Belgian Christmas ale, but it’s about time for a re-rating now that Christmas is coming - hopefully it has improved meanwhile.

Bottle from Aeon Liquors. Spicy, somewhatnhoppy nose, grass, lemon, sugar, orange. Hazy orange-brown with a medium tall head. Sweet, biscuity, lemons and orange, bit metallic, decently prickly and bitter finish. Not so special or particularly Christmasy, but ok.
