Tongerlo Prior is a full-bodied beer with fruity notes that develop into a spicy and slightly flowery bitterness of hops. An authentic abbey ale, the age-old tradition of the White Canons of Tongerlo lives on in this officially recognised Belgian abbey ale. Re-fermentation in the bottle gives this beer a more intense taste and aroma as well as a longer shelf life. Tongerlo Prior was chosen as the best European blond abbey/trappist ale in the 2011 World Beer Awards.

Bottled 060913, best before 06\03\15. Nose sweet and spicy, nice peppery yeast, cream, yellow sunshine with some very nice candyish touches. Pours very, very pale clear yellow with heavy and steady carbonation, a large and fluffy soapy bright white head. Taste is surprisingly (!) dry with just a touch of sweetness here and there, very well-hidden alcohol with pleasant warming in the center of the chest, mineral touches and nice golden malt. Wonderful bready resolution! Clean with only mild yeast character, faint peppery spice, light spicy hops. Jammy orange peel, lemon, clove. Nice!

Almost clear deep orange appearance with strong and lasting head. Fruity and yeasty aroma, medium sweetness, medium body, rounded bitterness finish. Overall decent Tripel.

Bu en bouteille de 33cl, une robe blonde et une mousse persistante, en bouche elle est très marqué par les agrumes types pamplemousses en début de bouche et en fin de bouche l’orange vraiment bonne !

Bottle. A little past noon. Poured a gigantic foamy head. One of the largest I've poured. Foam lingers. Aroma of some sweet candy, sugar, orange, lemon. Spicy yeast notes in taste. Slight warming alcohol. Pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 75cl. Pours clear, golden color with a massive carbonation release and airy, stable big white-off head. Aroma is fruity and refreshing. Citrus and apples with sweet malt and yeast. Flavor is medium sweet, perhaps towards the border of very sweet, fruity with pears and apples. Spices in the middle along with yeast. Finish moderate bitter, drying with high-alcohol concentration. Warming.

75cl bottle. Nice, regular tripel. Pretty cheap and really good value for the money.

Yellow pour with a white head. The aroma is fairly sweet with some biscuit malt. The flavor is full of biscuit malt, sugar and toffee. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Golden yellow, with a sting of orange og light amber if you prefer. White head could have been more compact. Fruity and yeast aroma, with flowers and herbs. Light and fruity taste for a trippel, with fresh twigs, fruits, citrus and earthy flavor. Ends up with a mix of apples and citrus.

Bottle from National Brewery Centre, Burton on Trent. Golden amber beer with small head. Aroma of yeast, orange citrus and cloves. Taste follows the aroma along with the alcohol warmth and other spices. Very nice.
