Ibrew2or3 (1648), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Aug 4, 2008 Courtesy of Gillard. The can pours clear copper with thin off white head. The aroma is vegetable notes of dry potato skin, dry broccoli spires and carrots fresh from the ground. Hmm. I also get notes of spicy earthy hops and a nutty maltiness. The taste is earthy with streaks of bitter pine and broccoli notes. I guess this is what IPA is like hopped up on earthy varieties. I may need some time to adjust get used to this take on the style. fishingnet (800), Brandon, Florida, USA Jul 27, 2008 Can courtesy of Gillard. Pours a clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of floral hops, sweet malt, and caramel. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness. Good. sebletitje (242), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 27, 2008 Courtesy of Gillard.
Pours amber / orange with light white head
Light hoppy nose and earthly (vegetables?)
Taste is thick, sugary / caramel with a dry finish. chandler0201 (100), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jul 6, 2008 Top of the Hill’s signature beer in my opinion. Pours a copper color with a large head. Aromas of molasses and pecans. Flavor and aftertaste is only slightly bitter for an IPA, which I like. Good stuff. nearbeer (1199), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jun 24, 2008 12 oz. can. Mostly clear, darkish copper with a four-finger head that settles to a lasting half inch of creamy foam. Earthy resin, molasses and grain aroma. Molasses, toasted pecan, and earthy-orange hop on the front. Slowly builds up a wave of pecan-resin-citrus on top, right on through to the bitter end. Near-medium body is a good balance of thirst-quenching wateriness vs. sticky malt goodness, and finishes slightly dry.
