Jul 19, 2005 Pours burnt sienna, with tan head. Aroma and taste of chocoff, some dark malt. Tastes roasty malty with some finishing chocolate. Light palate for a porter.

Jul 25, 2007 on nitro-pours a retaining creamy light tan head and black color with red tint. Aroma is dark malt-coffee/faint chocolate-oatmeal, flat bitterness. Mild carbonation.

Jul 4, 2005 Had this on tap at the brew pub in Chapel Hill. Dark, dark brown when you hold it up to the light. Tenacious off-white head. Roasty nose and flavor. I would describe the aftertaste as metallic, unfortunately.

Nov 1, 2004 Dark Brown, thick creamy tan head. Faint coffee aroma, Very Creamy palate. Nice coffe flavor, but it fades as it finishes. Ends with a veggie flavor and kind of watery. Starts nice, finishes disappointing. 2004 Knoxville Brewer’s Jam.
