4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Difficult to find fault with this one, and after more than one, Iím hardly inclined to. A nose that will knock your socks off, enough hop bitterness to satisfy your hop cravings, and a mouthful soft and full enough to keep this quaffable for a good session of beer drinking. Truly a great discovery in Iowa! I found this in a couple of places during our (my girlfriend/bride to be and mine) visit to Iowa City last week--Blackstone and Sanctuary. Worth checking out.

Pour out of 64 oz growler, clear orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of grapefruit, orange peel, hints of lemon, cracker, biscuit into some slight grass, pretty mild but balanced. Taste is a mix of nice orange, lemon zest, grass, slight spicy notes into a hint of sweet pineapple, touch of grain, biscuit, crackery notes, finishing fairly bitter, dry.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Growler from Casanova in Hudson, about 36 hours after fill. Pours a clear pale gold with huge white lasting head and great lacing. Aroma is great with orange and tangerine over some noticeable pale malts and bread. Taste is sweet citrus and malt up front, then into a little pineapple mixed with pine resin. Sometimes the middle is a little thin, but it finishes better with a well-balanced bitterness in the end. I hoped this would somehow exceed pseudoSue since itís an IPA with more alcohol, but in the end it falls short. Thatís OK, as it stands on its own as a very nice IPA. Very drinkable.

On tap at zombie burger, des Moines, iowa. Pours light golden with moderate white head. Aroma of pine with some fruity hop notes. Taste is hoppy, but somewhat disappointing. Not much depth to it. Moderate bitterness and low carbonation on the palate. Smooth, easy to drink but not a favorite.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Growler shared by Dany at his place. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a medium sized white head. Big sweet sticky citrus on the nose, malt and a bit of toast. Medium-bodied, a bit of warm alcohol, sweet malt, citrus, pungent grapefruit. Cool menthol notes, spicy citrus hops. Gritty hops into the finish, light alcohol warmth. Tasty stuff.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Had this beer at El Bait Shop in Des Moines and as one lifts the glass the drinker notices a clear, golden beer with a pleasant spruce/citrus aroma. The drinker will then experience a full body beer wtih a medium bittern finish. Overall it is one of the boldest IPAs I have ever drank.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Shiny gold, clean white foam. Heady overripe deep fruit musk, gooseberry, summery fresh-cut lawn. Crispy, full mellon hop flavor, a little resin, a big íol gin juniper/floral finish. In a crowded field of IPAs, this is distinctly different and stellar. Really happy to be drinking this. Sad I canít get it at home!
