3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 TheAlum (4359) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - AUG 13, 2012
Draft on tap at Dexter’s Pub (Madison, WI). Pours a richer golden amber hue, well hazed, some darker glow, sun hues on the edges. A frothy white head sits atop, thicker ringer with some decent lacing. Aromas preach that Galaxy hop presence, bigger fresh bitter earth, florals, and dancing in and out with citrus jabs. Bitter earth, touches of melon, florals, and grass. Firm bitterness, melon, grapefruit, and touches of white grape. Rich nose with big bitterness. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, preaching some decent bitterness, moderate and growing up front. A plain pale/bready malt element moves quickly into a firmly bitter middle. Touches of florals, soap, gentle citrusy life. Backend is earthy, floral, a touch of white grape. More rich floral bitterness, flashes of grapefruit, grass, and some resiny pine elements. Bitterness seems more on point, rich and stronger than the Pseudo. Flavors are firm, yet don’t assert themselves aside from a richer bitter feel that really linger on finish. Touches of bready and pale malts are non-descript. Really, this beer is about the hops. A touch of spice, finish is strong bitter fresh hops, touches of life. Nice well bittered beer, smaller body. Right up my alley. The flavor/citrus element from the front falls off but still some good flavors on the back. Great nose. A bit weak on body. Good flavors, good beer. Preferred the Sue for it’s Citra element.

8/10/12. On tap at the GTMW pre-party. Clear golden pour with a nice khaki head. Spicy and dank, almost vegetal aroma from the hops. Dank, bitter hop flavor as well. Kinda weird.

Tap at Short’s in IC. Very cloudy amber brew with a long lasting eggshell white head. Massive nose of grapefruit and peaches. Also a touch of dough. The taste is huge grapefruit and a little bit of bread crust. Touches of roasted pecans and bell pepper in the finish. A big bright brew.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 ekoerper (555) - Iowa, USA - AUG 2, 2012
Tap at TG. Big citrus and pine aromas, juicy grapefruit, resin, floral, dough, light malts. Pours a very murky light golden, obviously lots of yeast, thick white head and lots of lacing. Flavor: grapefruit juice, a touch of orange, pine, yeast and bread dough, medium bitterness for the style, light grains. Medium body and carbonation, smooth on the palate. Another nice TG IPA - I like that the ABV is on the low side.

First! Draft at Bodega brewpub La Crosse, WI. Nice resiny hop aroma. Murky orange body with thin ring of head at the top. Dishwater appearance. Appears to have lost a little carbonation in the 5 minutes
I spent adding it to the site. Some orange rind aspect fairly strongly on the tongue. Something seems slightly off but not enough to
Detract from the brew. Very good.
