CanIHave4Beers (3190) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - JUN 1, 2014
Pours a dark amber color with a small head that leaves some lacing on the glass.

Aroma has some toasted caramel & light chocolate maltiness, fairly clean, fairly faint, fine enough.

The flavor has a pretty rich and well rounded maltiness, most defiantly some chocolate & dark caramel malt are there. It’s got a light touch of leafy happiness... some earthy tones. The beer is a touch sweet, but not cloying at all.

At the source, in a sampler shared with the just-21 year old. Pours ruby colored with no head. Aroma has bread and nuts and light stone fruits. Tastes follows, more fruity than the aroma. Medium bodied but light in taste and presentation. Finishes sweetly. Inoffensive, but likely not in the top 10 of their 15 taps. Shrug?

Draft pour at the source. Pours a clear dark amber with a beige head of foam. The aroma is toasty and bready. Toasty taste and a little sweet. Light body and low carbonation.

Pour from a growler. Dark amber with a nice tan head. Malty and slightly hoppy nose. Easy drinking, mild and tasty.

Tap at Dexters. Burgundy amber. Thin, oily head laces the glass. Fruity amber malt, but very well balanced by the caramel malt tones. Medium to full bodied. Pretty respectable offering, quite clean and balanced. Fruity toffee finish. Nice.

On tap at Short’s in Iowa City. Pours an amber brown color with white head. Caramel, toffee, nutty, malty flavors. Irish red isn’t one of my favorite styles, but this one isn’t too bad.
