COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Naughty 90 Oaked IPA was inspired by ocean bound, oak barreled brews of the 1800’s. Packed with hops on a 90-minute schedule, uniquely malted, then aged on a bed of oak, this IPA delivers a taste that is both innovative and timeless.

Draft pour at the source. Pours a hazy orange with a white head of foam. The aroma has toffee, orange, bread, cake. The taste is mildly bitter. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Tap. Pours cloudy amber, small of white head, good lacing. Aroma is caramel, oak, tannins, brown sugar, a bit of pine. Flavor follows, medium sweet, light bitter, lots of malt sugars, vanilla, oak, bitterness without much hop flavors. Woody. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Interesting, but not an IPA.

Échantillonné du Extreme beer fest 2014: Première surprise du festival. Des notes de noix grillées, d’agrumes, galette de sarrasin, caramel dans une ipa qui me donne une impression de faire un retour dans le temps.

On tap at the EBF Saturday Decent oak aged ipa the wood seems a bit harsh for the base beer though.

Meh.. this tastes like an old dipa. Really malty, grainy, sweet, oaky, and awkward. Reminds me of a barleywine at only 6.5%. Unique I guess but my rating may be a bit generous here.

Pour out of 64 oz growler, murky orange-copper with white head, aroma brought notes of big oak, lemon, hints of earthy malts with some caramel, nice orange peel as well with a hint of pine, grass in there. Taste is a mix of oak, lemon, vanilla, hints of caramel, toffee, hints of grass, finishing slightly spicy, earthy, bitter.

On draft at the the brewpub. Pours a hazy copper with an off white head. Nutty nose. Flavors of oak and sea salt with caramel notes. Hops are very subdued. Somewhat smoky finish. Interesting.

Tap at Shorts. Pour is cloudy deep brown with a small off-white head. Aroma is full of rich caramel malt with light brown sugar and faint hop notes. Flavor is so rich yet smooth. Loads of rich caramel malt with hints of vanilla, and light brown sugar. Hops way in the background but provide a perfect balance to the sweetness. Tastes nothing like an IPA; more like a good Scottish ale. Really good beer.
