This single hop ale showcases the Citra hop. Named for the largest T-rex fossil ever discovered, she roars with ferocious aromas of grapefruit, citrus, mango and evergreen. Delicate in body with a mild bite in the finish.

Admin Note: Previously brewed as a 5.8% ABV offering, current and future batches are listed at 7% ABV per a tweak and translating the beer to a larger 30 bbl system. Tweaks may continue to change this ABV slightly as they settle on an official end product.

Bomber thanks to joshmcg000. Slightly hazy gold pour with a 2 finger, creamy off white head that has good retention and leaves a little lacing. Aroma is loaded with tropical fruit, sweet citrus and some pine, small amounts of perfumey floral notes. A little toast, biscuit and maybe a hint of caramel are there if you really stick your nose in it, but mostly just awesome, fruity hops. Flavor is similarly full of tropical fruit, lots of pineapple and passion fruit, some nice ripe melon, citrus and a hint of pine. Aside from hoppy, fruity notes there are light, but pleasant notes, of biscuit, caramel, toast, sweet apple, a little bread and just enough minerality to the finish to give it a pleasant crispness. Medium body, with a nice, creamy entry, moderate strength, blanketing carbonation and off dry, crisp finish. Fantastic, beer, perfectly drinkable, nearly flawless execution and loaded with hops. After reviewing Zombie Dust a few days ago and this little gem today, I may be a bit spoiled on Citra APA’s. Thanks Josh!

Bottle. Pale tangerine hue with soft haze and a frothy cap of white. Aroma delivers grass, orange peel and lime in front of soft honey and a touch of sweet mango. Clean, admittedly complex citrus pith leads the flavor and is backed up by a perfect crackery sweetness that carries the brew to a clean, balanced finish. This was bottled at the end of May and, if other reviews are any indication, has dropped off dramatically in two months. It’s obviously a very well-made beer, but lacking in hop brightness and complexity.

Bottle shared with Luk. Creamsicle orange juice pour, very cloudy orangey pour with thick creamy white head. Aroma is intensely hoppy, nice dankness, light piney notes, very resinous and fruity hop aroma, tons of orange zest, light grapefruit. Taste is bitter but not aggressively so, nice juicy hop flavor, full hop flavor intensity without much bitterness. Palate is med bodied, nice creamy texture. Dangerously easy to drink, delicious.

Thanks a million to tom1010 for finding us that bottle! It pours a hazy golden with a small white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of oranges and weed. Taste is juicy fruits and moderately bitter. Flavors of mangoes and weed again. Incredibly good. Body is medium, carbonation moderate and the extreme juiciness make it extremely easy to drink. Just plain awesome, really. I want more!

UPDATED: AUG 1, 2015 Bottle (22 oz). Split 2-ways with Minderbinder. Thanks to tbadiuk for the bottle. A few weeks old, I don’t see a bottling date.

Appearance: Cloudy orangey-golden with some particles floating, a medium easy to revive creamy off-white head, good retention and good lacing.

Aroma: Nice tropical features, light resin, grass, cereals, caramel (but not in a bad way) and floral hops.

Taste: Not much sweetness despite a pretty good malt backbone. Tropical fruits, crisp cereals, grass, biscuity notes, caramel and moderate bitterness.

Palate: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Fluffy mouthfeel. Crisp and clean. Rather dry finish.

Overall: An extremely well balanced pale with one of the best malt backbone I’ve had in a Pale Ale so far. Easy drinkable. Alcohol is well hidden/integrated. Tasty stuff. Not on Trillium level though.

EDIT: Drank a 2nd bottle all by myself and I need to update aroma + overall of 1 pt each. Much more aromatic. Lighter in color.

Served on tap at Toppling Goliath. Golden color with a light white head. Citrus and hops aroma. Medium body carbonated texture. Hoppy citrus mango flavor. Nice balance without the hoppy bite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Solid and bright golden, decent white crowned head. Greasy, grassy and full on pith party; dank enough. Initial taste is upped on the pith front, tangerine, clean sherbertty fuzz without being overly carbonated. Mouthfeel is fairly solid and this is suprisingly underbitter and softly sweet. Grapefruit party kicks on here, bit of a tropical cocktail sweetness comes through but just kicks things into touch before it gets anything but more delicious. Finishes much the same and the linger is fairly dry and more sherbetty pale pale malt.
