Pours an opaque black with two fingers oh khaki head that settles rather quickly to a light film and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is somewhat savory with some roast, a bit of sweet smoke and chocolate. Taste has some of that smokey sweetness with some roasty and coffee notes and dry cocoa. Finishes with some lingering sweetness, mild roasty bitterness and some savoriness. Mouthfeel is soft and semi creamy with a medium/full body and low/medium carbonation. Nice balance of flavors and good level of sweetness. Would be great with some barbecue or meat cooked over an open fire.

Black pour with a thick double finger espresso head that fades quick. Aroma of roasted coffee and a little sweetness. Medium bodied. Sweet, almost like chocolate milk with a dry finish. Lots of bitter roasted malt. No lace.

Pours black with frothy cream head. Aroma is dark chocolate, toffee, toasted malts. Taste is coffee, caramel, chocolate, malt. It's no Old Rasputin, but it's good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(12oz bottle thanks to brystmar) deep espresso brown, 1/2 thick dark tan head that lasts a decent while. Nose is roasty, oatmeal, almond, nutty, dark chocolate, fairly one dimensional but very clean and a nice example of the style. Taste is roasty, a little sweet, nutty, medium dark chocolate though not bitter, touch of lactose, high carbonation that clears away the flavors on the palate, though some roastiness lingers. Smells amazing, tastes pretty good. Nice example of an oatmeal stout.

"I’ve been a wild rover for many a year
And I spent all my money on whiskey and beer,
And now I’m returning with gold in great store
And I never will play the wild rover no more"

Thanks to Minderbinder for the opportunity! Pours a very dark brown with a small roux head that disappears as fast as it appeared and leave no lacing. Nose is of chocolate and roasted malt. Slight alcohol. Taste is moderately sweet and offers coffe and chocolate with some faint ash. Still, really nice. Moderately bitter. Body is medium-full, carbonation moderate. A really nice sweet stout, almost world class, would be if there was no ash at all!

A very solid, very smooth oatmeal stout. Mildly sweet. Dense roasty finish. Aroma of licorice and wood. Picked up with Jess in Des Moines in 2015.
