650 mL bottle. Originally reviewed 5/18/2015. Black body. Medium khaki head. Nose has lots of oatmeal. Chocolate. Dark roasted malt. Oatmeal flavor is strong again. Hefty roasted malts. Almost burnt and a little smokey. The slightest bit of sweetness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Very well made. Not gonna be something everyone loves because it just isnít that exciting, but I appreciate that TG can deliver a nice roasted malt flavor without excess sugars.

16 oz can from humlelala, thanks a lot dude! Pours black with a nice brown head. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee, olives, toasted oats with bitter chocolate. Flavor is a bit muted, nice silky body but a bit thin on the finish. Medium sweet, with oats, some chocolate, vanilla notes, roasted malts. Medium body with medium to low carbonation. Ok!

At Mikkeller & Friends, march 24th 2016. Black body with a redtintet beige head. Aroma is roasty with leather, fruit and chocolate. Taste is quite bitter, both the roasted malt and hops participate, with a smooth cocoa taste, towards the finish itís a nice blend of dark chocolate and toast, like a fresh baked brownie. Quite good!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours very dark brown/black with a tall brown head that settles eventually to nothing and doesnít even lace. Nose involves dark chocolate, toasted malt, caramel, coffee cream, a hint of smoke, woody herbal notes. Pretty sweet, fairly bitter. Medium bodied, oily, soft to flat carb, drying with woody bitterness, long roasted finish. Canned Dec 1, 2015, so getting a bit long in the tooth, but holding up all right thanks to the can. Pretty rich, thatís for sure. If this hints at what their imp stouts are like, then I can see why folks go batshit for them. Still, not quite hitting the mark for me.
