The Toppling Goliath tap takeover preceding the Great Taste of the Midwest offered a number of excellent sounding session pale ales. I wound up going with this one and was not disappointed. While it does not stand out completely it is made well enough to be easy to finish in short order.

Aroma / Appearance - A bronze fluid base shimmers in the daylight. Crisp white head accents the foundation well. Light grass, resin, and an inviting bitterness sit easily in the air like afternoon sunshine on a grassy lawn.

Flavor / Palate - The fluid mouthfeel offers a nice combination of flavors. Resin, grass, and bright citrus tones sparkle. The finish is bitter without overdoing it and fatiguing the palate. The prototypical American session pale offers something for everybody.

Pours a hazy gold with a decent white head and lacing. Aroma of green earthy hops and light malt. Taste was grassy and earthy hops with a mild malt backbone. Light/medium body with moderate carbonation. Decent pale ale that is drinkable but doesn’t stand out. On tap at taproom.

On tap at Dexter’s Pub in Madison, on GTMW eve. Pretty sure this was the version I had, correct me if I’m mistaken please. Clear orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves good, thicker lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Nice bigger grapefruit spicy piney resiny hop aroma, for a pale ale. Hoppier than many IPAs. More of a caramel malt presence than light speed had, though. Moderate to bigger bitter taste. Moderate sweet. Solid, hoppy pale ale.

Clear golden pour at Dexter’s Pub in Madison, Great Taste of the Midwest Eve. Slight white head. Nice herbal and floral hoppy nose. Some citrus in there too. Nice taste, lots of hops, bitterness balanced by a hefty malt presence. Nice mouthfeel.

Pours a clear golden color with white head. Citrus, a little pine, and some tropical fruits on the nose, with just a hint of malt; follows onto the palate. Finishes with just enough malt to balance it out. Nice beer.

Incredibly clean version of a pale. Citrus flavors, crisp slightly bitter finish. Very pretty pour as well. One of my favorites at our stop at the tasting room.
