Ipa with New Zealand Nelson hops.
This zeelicious single hop IPA showcases the rare Nelson Sauvin hop from New Zealand. Delightfully confusing aromas of citrus and mandarin oranges give way to an incredibly complex body of earth tones and marigolds. This is truly like any hop you’ve ever tasted.

Bottle shared at RBWG 2014 Late Night tasting - Asheville. Pours clear gold with a white foam head. Big, dank aroma with piss, pine and grapefruit. Medium sweet flavor with moderate pale malt sugars, rich urine, orange, pine needles. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet and dank on the finish with rich pale malts, pine, grapefruit. Hefty, ballsy, still nicely balanced, delicious.

Bottle @ home, courtesy tossed via Flair. Slightly hazed orange pour with a soapy white head. Smells of green onion, juicy grapefruit and orange, and huge pine. Slight biscuit malt note. Fairly bitter on the tongue. Some bitter green onion and garlic. Lots of pine and orange rind. Slight marmalade note. Huge resin on the finish. Not bad.

Bottle... Pours hazy and deeply amber with a mid-sized, fluffy, white head. The aroma features a medley of citrus and tropical fruits and as with all overly dry-hopped beers, there’s definitely some musky armpit here. Medium-bodied with adequate carbonation. The flavor is a mingling of bitter citrus and tropical fruit rinds and piths. Some melon here as well. Finishes crisp, moderately bitter and a bit coarse. Bottle courtesy of ctipping!

Growler @ MPLS LOL tasting, courtesy of CLevar. Pours a milky yellow orange appearance with a white head. Quite spicy, onion, garlic, white grape, dry hoppy, light tropical fruity nose. Onion, spicy, light toasted malty, lemon, light pineapple, fairly dry flavor. Delicious.

Bottle [from trade with mista] @ Kings Day Tasting 2014 shared with Dutchdrebus. Pretty hazy light orange color, full sized a bit rocky off-white head that lasts for quite some time. Aroma is malts, hops, citrus, some tropical fruits. Hops and fruitiness get more prominent after the beer warms up a bit. Taste malts, nicely hoppy and fruity. The fruit hops flow into in very nice suitable not over the top bitterness in the finish which makes the beer very enjoyable. Still I feel the beer should have a bit more alcohol, for instance 7%, to give it a bit more body. Aroma and flavorwise it’s certainly an IPA, but the body imo is just a little shy of what it should be. Nevertheless this is a very enjoyable beer!

>> Thank you Lenin for this rake. Clear orange gold pour. Weak foam. Nose is vegetal hops- onion, shallot, garlic, maybe orange glazed shallot for a French dish. Taste is a bit boozy, sweet onion, bitter orange, peel, potpourri. Sneeze inducing hop levels. Fresh and juicy palate. I like it, but garlic and oniony hops haters gonna hate.

On tap at Dexter’s Pub in Madison, on GTMW eve. Clear golden orange color. Thin off-white ring of head. Good dots of lace. Awesome big tropical citrus grapefruit hop aroma. Very light caramel malt. Medium plus body. Smooth, kind of soft, crisp lighter carbonation. Kind of slick. Moderate to bigger bitter taste. Moderate sweet. Awesome super hoppy pale ale.
