COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ipa with New Zealand Nelson hops.
This zeelicious single hop IPA showcases the rare Nelson Sauvin hop from New Zealand. Delightfully confusing aromas of citrus and mandarin oranges give way to an incredibly complex body of earth tones and marigolds. This is truly like any hop you’ve ever tasted.

Bottle as an amazing trade extra. Pours hazy yellow golden with a big fluffy creamy white head. Incredible aroma of pineapple, mango, pine, and hay. Just perfect aroma. Flavor follows with big juicy pineapple and tropical fruits, medium bitter, juicy. Wow. Medium light bodied and incredible flavor for 5.5%. These guys just need to replace every other brewery on the planet so I can drink it all the time. This hit the spot.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2014 22oz bottle. Hazy golden orange unfiltered body. Fluffy white head. Citrus, guava, mandarin, delicate tropical rind. Probably the most awesome Nelson Sauvin experience you can have. Delicate and juicy. World Class, phenomenal beer.

Pale golden, clear, some visible effervescence. Fine white foam, thin layer. Abundant diesel aromas, almost vegetal, radish, ginseng, earthiness. Garlic greens. papaya. Feel is lightly creamy, easy drinking, light calcium mineral flavor, light medium body. Finishes with a light melon sweetness. Incredible and extreme beer here defining a rich edge of sulfur-expressive hop use. So well done. This is the beer.

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2014 Poured from a growler that was opened hours earlier. Straw colored, no head. Aroma dominated by pink grapefruit, absolutely amazing. Flavor again is dominated by citrus hop notes. Medium body but nearly completely flat. The aroma and flavor of this beer is amazing, I wish I could have it fresh. (9,4,9,3,17) Rerating from the bottle. Carbonation bumps the body to a 4 and overall to 18.

Bottle: The aroma consists of dank hops, tropical fruits, and light grapefruit. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a small white head that quickly fades to a thin ring. There’s some thing webbing left on sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of tropical fruits with a hint of pineapple. The finish has moderate citrus hops, grapefruit, and a hint of lemon. It’s light bodied with light-moderate carbonation. Overall, this is insanely sessionable. I could drink this all day.

Tap. Pours a hazy straw-yellow. Aroma is incredible, tons of raw onion, lemony citrus notes. Flavor is all Nelson, some onion in the flavor but mostly dominated by grapefruit, some passionfruit, white grape kind of fruitiness. Medium body and a softer carbonation. Extremely drinkable.

Growler. Medium and very hazy apricot colored pour, spotty head and a really nice aroma of fresh oranges and peaches. Flavor is dry and bitter woody peaches and grapefruit and just enough malt to stand up to some good creamy bitterness on the finish. Pretty damn good, and a steal at $10 for a growler fill.

Bottle from bytemesis. Hazy orange color, nice carbonation. Terrific fragrant aroma, flowers and a little potpourri spice. Flavor follows the same lead but also has a prominent grass malt, medium bitter. Wonderful beer, lots of flavor but also something that i could drink several of without being worn out.

Tap. Smells and tastes delicious. Nose is orange and grapefruit. The mandarin orange come through more on the taste. Dry aftertaste.

At the source, in a sampler shared with the just-21 year old for my 1100th. Pours orangey yellow with a bit of a head. Aroma is lovely "citra-y" hops; citrus and fresh fruits. And more citrus and fresh fruit. Terrific! Taste is of dank rich fruits, grapefruit, oranges. So hop forwardly sweet the malt presence is neither noted nor important. Medium bodied and sticky. Finishes bittersweet, in excellent balance between the two. A testament to the versatility of the hop!
