2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2010 Small white head over deep golden beer. Mostly dry grainy, but with a surprising aroma, remindful of freshly grind coffeebeans and toast, but very volatile, only grassy aromas left behind. Dry-ish, grassy and leafy flavour; rainwater, pretty dull. Rainwater quality, if well carbonated, light body. Starts not bad, but peters out afterwards. Many thanks to Lenka, Tomăš and Peter.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
bottle, pours light gold with a medium frothy white head. Aroma is nice and full of Sazz. Crisp pale malts and hay flavors that end with a classic peppery hop bite. Dry and highly drinkable....I liked this.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pale gold with lots of floaties, a small white rocky head with no retention and weak, spotty lacing. Smell is pretty weak. Its got sweet malts and a grainy aroma and some chemicals attacking my nose. Taste is not too good - now I remember why I never bought this more than once. There is a harsh bitterness that I’m not liking...damn, I’ve still got 2/3 of a glass left. Malts. That’s it. The malts are pretty decent though. Now that it’s warmer, I can’t taste some of the things that were there (hurrah!). Mouthfeel is quite carbonated and has some syrupy content to it. The really harsh bitterness has left and the mouthfeel in average now, but early on it was crap. Wow. This beer actually got better warm when I thought I would pretty much be puking on my lap. Too little too late - I prefer to drink this type of beer on the colder side (which was crap). Belch hurts my eyes. Aroma is swill, taste is swill. Swill. Swill from a country so far away. I can get cheaper swill that’s made here. Next time, I think a screwtop 40 of 800 is in order.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
0.5 l can courtesy of Doggythedog, thanks for sharing! It poured pale golden body with smaller to medium sized head. Weak grassy aroma, a bit malty in the background. Slightly bitter flavor, grassy and lemony hoppy, flowery malty. A bit thinner in body. Has fine and quite long pleasantly dry finish. Could be better, it’s quite ordinary, but it’s well made and fine enough.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
0.5l bottle brought from Slovakia by a friend (thanks a lot Ivana!), shared with heavy
Poured a golden body with a small thick white head that went away at a medium pace. Fresh herbal hoppy nose, Simple watery but nice taste, lemony herbal hopiness, a bit light, and that’s pretty much it. Drinkable, a bit too light and simple, one dimensional but nice.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, bought in Slovakia.
Pours a nice golden with a fine, staying, creamy, white head. Good amount of bubbles surching upwards. Aroma is lightly grassy, some butterscotch and a slight wheaty edge. Fine, rather milky mouthfeel with a rather high carbonation. Flavour is very lightly metallic, some good grassy hops. Crispy malts and a slight touch of butterscotch. Actually a very fine bottled Bohemian.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle brown, 500 ml, 12 P
Appearance: Body is nice deep, golden, shining, intense colour of dark gold or rather amber. Body is sparkling lively but bubbles are small, the beer is carbonated in very nice way. Head is initially medium than decreases to a small froth on the top of the body (up to 1 finger and not more) that lasts quite long. Head colour is white. Head is frothy and regular in structure, gives average lacing.
Aroma: More oily than ’Budwieser Bier 1795’, floral, average hoppy as for Bohemian Pilsener (quite high though), milky, creamy, a bit chalky, maderate malty, hints of white chockolate, crispy, lemon (from hops), still hoppy ( a bit less from ’Budweisre Bier 1795’ and more malty.
Flavour: Front is sweet, accidic, olive oil, alcoholic nose, tangy, white, wine grapes, fruity, wildberries, all this fruits are result of flowery hops that give also nice bitterness on palate. Very well balanced with nice, perfectly hidden malty base that exists in the background and gives beautiful body colour, again as you drink it wildberries and salty taste is coming back. Finish duration is average to long, a bit bready accid.
Palate: Carbonation on palate is present. Not wattery, rather oily texture. Body is medium to full, finish feel is salty, flowery, fruity, bitter. Great art of brewing light beer.

most of the Slovakian lagers are in the Czech Pilsener style (not sure why this is classified as "American Macro Lager" ...) and this one is no exception ...
a well brewed thirst quencher, whith a distinctive note of hops ... not too spectacular, but there is nothing wrong with this one either ...
