Corked bottle. Blonde. Floral notes and citrus in the soft perfumed aroma. Sweetish, perfumed flavor with citrus and floral notes. Sticky, lacks character.

75cl Bottle from Mitra HHW. Shared, thank God. Golden colour, white head. Aroma of sugar, lemon drops, stale hops, light fruity grain. Smells cheap. Flavour is likewise, with some dish wash added in the mix. Poor Tripel.

Well, nothing special going on here. Straw-yellow coloured and clear. Has a white head, mostly diminishing. Malty aroma, bread, light sweet fruity notes. Sweet flavor, a bit thick, harmonic hoppy flavor, moderate bitter finish. An ok industrial produced beer.

Bottle, 75cl corked. It pours a lightly unclear, golden color under a small, off-white head. Some lacings. The aroma has a fruity sweetness, some pale malts, citrus notes, a spiced hint and some alcohol. It’s full-bodied and lightly warming on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Perhaps a bit dry. There’s some pale malts and white sugar in the flavor, it’s fruity and a faintly peppery hint. Some bitterness. Lasting fruity finish with some pale malts and white sugar. A pretty decent one, could easily have finished this on my own. 140418

(backlog 2013) 75cl from Delhaize Wondelgem, I believe. Partly self-cancelling label seeking to target the best of both worlds mentioning the up-market "premium" and the charmingly entry-level beer show for the Flemish working man’s public TV channel één. Result is a muddled go at updating a traditional tripel that gets bogged down in lazy malt sugars (wheaty banana, apple sauce) and a misdirected yeastiness (some soapiness), throwing off some catalogue esters and abv wafts, overplaying correct grassy, floral hop levels. Hard to finish, corked the bottle halfway and then forgot about it in the fridge. - St.Bernardus Tripel 75cl is cheaper than this media stunt and several quality leaps ahead.
