4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 BitterPoet (57) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 5, 20047th Anniversary Dinner night. Cask version. Dry-hopping fits this brew right, as it veers away from the fuitier side of IPAs in lieu of a straight punch. Think Hsing-Yi, not Pa-Kua. Loved it.

I can this on cask at the Townhall Tap. Good balance in this IPA that favors unique hop blend.

Growler from the brewpub
Thanks to DalzAle for the growler. This was a very solid IPA that makes me want to revisit the brewpub. There might be better versions in bottles but for a tap only release it was very easy to finish off the growler with the help of tastybeer.
Aroma / Appearance - A strong bronze base and wispy white head complement the thin legs. Strong malt driven iced tea and grapes left on the vine until they became raisins supplement sweet hops.
Flavor / Palate - Simultaneously malty and sweet, the mouthfeel is chewy in a way that reminds me of a half melted Mars Bar minus the chocolate. Smooth from start to finish the only drawback to a growler is that it does become filling after two pints. Even so I would do my best to drink another.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 tastybeer (1313) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - AUG 26, 2012
Growler, courtesy Brigadier, thanks! Copper clear pour, off-white head. Little retention/lace. Aroma of toffee, grassy hops, nuts, light toast. Taste is sweet caramel/toffee, light grassy/pine hop bitterness, light toast. Palate is soft, slick, lightly bitter finish. Interesting.

Growler. Rating #74. I enjoyed this one while I was out fishing with the boys who all agreed that this was a stellar beer. Very nicely balanced. Real nice bitterness, but it was also quite drinkable. (2452)

On tap at brewpub pours a clear copper with a small off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts, fruits, and English hops. Taste of caramel malts, plum, toffee, and a bite of hop hop, with a chalky palate. Nice!

Draft. Pours a slightly cloudy amber color with a light white head. Nice caramel notes in the flavor with a fruity hop note. Medium mouthfeel. Nice lingering bitterness. Slight roast aroma and fruit nose. Solid.
