3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jredmond (3999) - Manhattan, New York, USA - AUG 31, 2012
Sampled at Kramer’s Campground Brewdown 2012. Pours a hazy amber body with thin white lacing. Aroma is sweet malts, light booze and other than that straightforward. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of fruity caramel malts, light spice and alcohol. Overall, a bit boozy and pretty plain.

Thanks to burg326 for the share on this one. Thanks, Adam! Pours a hazy yellow-orange with a white head. Nose is caramel, vanilla, wood, bourbon, and piney hops. Flavor is similar with a nose dose of malt from the IPA, a nice vanilla/ wood infusion from the barrel, and some pine hops from the IPA-ness again. Interesting barrel beer.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 dmac (3163) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - NOV 28, 2012
Bottle acquired via trade shared at Campground Brewdown. Poured an orange amber body with a full large foamy off white head. Aroma of wooden barrel, light whiskey/bourbon, sweet vanilla, cognac, toffee and molasses. Fuller body with slight heat towards the end, softer carbonation, chewy mouthfeel and a dry finish. Flavor isn’t quite as good as the aroma with notes of grains, citrus rind, wood, whiskey and dark rum cake. Started off good but drops off.

750ml bottle from Alpar, shared it at Markwise’s Bday bash, poured a nice orange color, aromas of oak, vanilla, bourbon, pine, and some hops. Flavors are the same was on the fence on how this one woud play out, but nice beer overall. Thanks Alex for the trade.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 dcschiller (1987) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JUN 8, 2012
Thanks to Alpar! Pours a hazy orange-amber color with a tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla and caramel. Taste is sweet and very much like a BA barleywine here. Medium bodied with a little alcohol burn. This was much better than I expected and I found it to be really, really tasty. One of the many highlights for me at Nick’s bachelor party.

Tap. Dark hazy brown pour, syrupy hops, warming booze and a hot nose. Flavor is very well blended syrupy hops, caramel and a touch of mild bourbon which seems to round out any abrasiveness of the hops. Surprised by this one, much better than I expected!

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 kbutler1 (1256) - Minnesota, USA - APR 2, 2012
Bottle. Pours a nice rich, copper color with a large foamy white head. The bourbon on this mixed with the hops throws off a "different" aroma that I am not that keen of right off the bat. It’s very different than anything I have had lately. Malty and sweet with bourbon overtones. Overall, a dissappointment in this series but worth a try.

Pours a golden caramel with a paperthin head. Aroma of strong bourbon and oak. Taste follows, very hoppy, very tasty. My favorite of the lot!
