Was not expecting this to be as good as it was, WOW. Dark orange color with huge amounts of bourbon and some very resiny hop notes. A little bit of toffee from the barrel. Taste was fantastic, sweet and dry with a pleasant barrel character. The hops really fall in with the whiskey barrel and make for an interesting mix. Definitely a stand out beer.

Nice head and lacing. Aroma is a little floral and a lot bourbon. Cloudy dark orange. Bourbon dominates the taste, but the IPA comes out as it finishes. I like it, but I also like boozy! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Toffee and caramel aromas. Flavors of caramel, bourbon, oak, and hops. Very different than your standard imperial IPA. Yet another fine showing from TH.

Bottle @ Papsø. Hazy, orange appearance with an off white head. Tropical fruity, mango, pineapple, sweet toffee, light wood, mild whiskey aroma with a little mild booziness. Delicious rich toffee, chewy caramel, rich malty, delicious mango, tangerine fruity, moderately boozy whiskey flavor. Somewhat boozy but the fruity, hop notes are still there nicely.

Tap. Dark hazy brown pour, syrupy hops, warming booze and a hot nose. Flavor is very well blended syrupy hops, caramel and a touch of mild bourbon which seems to round out any abrasiveness of the hops. Surprised by this one, much better than I expected!

Thanks to Alpar! Pours a hazy orange-amber color with a tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla and caramel. Taste is sweet and very much like a BA barleywine here. Medium bodied with a little alcohol burn. This was much better than I expected and I found it to be really, really tasty. One of the many highlights for me at Nick’s bachelor party.

Rich, deep gold pour, white head. Loads of bourbon, sweet toffee, hops, oak, honey in the nose This drinks like a nice sweet and hoppy barrel aged barelywine. Tons of vanilla, toffee, oak, sweet hop flavors....I really like this a lot.

Courtesy of dcschiller. It pours clear copper with tan head. The aroma is very barleywine like with muted pine hops rolling into sticky malts, vanilla and then bourbon like booze. The taste is nice with pine hops softened up by vanilla and molasses sweetness and then rolling slowly toward a moderate level of smooth bourbon booze. Lovin’ this! Thanks Dave.
