This is our strongest, darkest and most heavy regular offering. It is virtually black in color and features rich roasted malt flavor with a delicate caramel and vanilla finish. It is carbonated and served with the use of nitrogen gas, giving the Black Water a beautiful cascading pour and thick, creamy foam atop your glass. Made with only the freshest American malts and English hops.

Some pulls from my wife’s two pints at Town Hall. This one pours a dark brown with a finger of beige head that dissipates into a film and ring. Notes of roasted malts, chocolate, oats, cream, caramel, toasted nuts, vanilla, and toast. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Roasty, sweet, and right to style.

On tap as part of the sampler tray. My first taste if town hall beer. Coffee flavour. Bit too cold for a stout ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Growler to glass. Pours dark brown black with a quick khaki head that dissipates to a thin ring around glass. Aroma has roasted malt and cereal with a touch of soy. Taste is bitter roasted malt and black coffee with some cereal and soy or faint peat and prune flavors. Palate is full and slick with a dry finish.

On tap at Town Hall Brewery. Good mild chocolate and sweet roast aroma. Black. Mild creamy chocolate flavors; some balance in mid palate; final peters out rather quickly. Smooth, medium body, and a bit fizzy. Okay. Tasty. but nothing special.

On tap at TH 20Aug2012, Of course it looks great, and smells great but the body is too thin, the oats dont seem to add much to make it smoother, fuller or creamier.. your average roast flavor makes this a solid beer but not superb

Solid stout. Roasty, with a nice mocha backbone shoring up a moderately sweet center. Mildly bitter lingering fade, with even more chocolate and coffee popping up. I could definitely use another one of these.

Sampler at the brewpub. It poured a very dark brown color with a thin foamy brown head. The aroma was of dark roasted grains and ripe plums. The taste was of roasted grains, almost smokey with ash, vanilla, chocolate and juicy fruits. A very decent Stout.

On tap at Town Hall. Dark black in colour with brown head. Thick and creamy, sweet and frothy. Very nice.

On tap at Town Hall. Perfectly black stout with thick tan head. Wonderful aroma of chocolate and coffee along with hazelnut. Very creamy, thick, and powerful tasting stout, having similar, though milder, flavors to much stronger imperial stouts but without the overwhelming hit of alcohol. Good bitterness balances the sweetness. Excellent, especially at its (in house) price.

On tap at Town Hall. Dark brown with ruby lowlights and a creamy brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel and fake chocolate. Body is a tad thin and tastes of semi-sweet roasted malt and mild chocolate but mostly just roasted barley and roasted malt. Finishes up a tad dry.
