This is our strongest, darkest and most heavy regular offering. It is virtually black in color and features rich roasted malt flavor with a delicate caramel and vanilla finish. It is carbonated and served with the use of nitrogen gas, giving the Black Water a beautiful cascading pour and thick, creamy foam atop your glass. Made with only the freshest American malts and English hops.

Part of the house sampler! This one of my favorites of the evening. Simple and smooth! Lots of oatmeal and smoothness.

This was a decent beer and I would drink it again, I do enjoy Oatmeal Stout, however, this one did nothing to make me go wow. The smell started me off nice but the taste was not as impressive. There is the taste of roasted grains and caramel. This beer is filling and enjoyable, but donít expect to be swept off of your feet.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2013 Tasted on tap at Town Hall Brewery. Fatally opaque dark drown to black in color with a frothy brown head. A very smooth drinking stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very roasty and complex sample pour at Town Hall. Really rich with biscuity sweetness, very dry finish, and some nutty/toffee/roasty flavors in there as well. Must get in MN!

Aroma of dark chocolate and coffee, maybe a hint of oats somewhere in there. Appearance is dark black, with a bit a of deep red, and a very small tan head. Some nice lacing as I drink. The flavor is excellent - tons of coffee and dark chocolate up front with some round oat flavors following. Have to say though, Iím tasting the coffee more than anything else. Palate is decent, pretty thick and smooth, but not as creamy as what I would expect (Samuel Smiths) from an oatmeal stout. Overall a very good brew, even if it isnít the best example of its style.

On tap at the pub. They arenít kidding when they say black H2O, thatís how it pours, with a nice white head. A nice roasted flavor, very malty, another great beer from my favorite brewpub.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2006 Dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of molasses, oatmeal, milk chocolate, licorice, smoke and light coffee. Flavor blended the molasses with a candy tobacco sweetness over a slightly thin but creamy palate. Nice lingering malty finish.

I think that beers need to stop calling themselves oatmeal stouts unless they have a distinct oatmeal flavor and feel. This has neither, but has malt and faint chocolate flavor aroma and flavor. The use of nitrogen gas definitely gives this a great look, thick and creamy but I think it takes away from flavor. The finish is fine, but doesn’t leave you wanting to take another sip.

Nice dark body with a tan head. Smoky, roasted malts coming up rather nicely in the aroma. Flavor is like drinking a breakfast meal, and in that respect the beer has done quite well. Nice and sweet. A little thin on the body, but otherwise, quite good.
