COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our strongest, darkest and most heavy regular offering. It is virtually black in color and features rich roasted malt flavor with a delicate caramel and vanilla finish. It is carbonated and served with the use of nitrogen gas, giving the Black Water a beautiful cascading pour and thick, creamy foam atop your glass. Made with only the freshest American malts and English hops.

On tap at the pub. They aren’t kidding when they say black H2O, that’s how it pours, with a nice white head. A nice roasted flavor, very malty, another great beer from my favorite brewpub.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2006 Dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of molasses, oatmeal, milk chocolate, licorice, smoke and light coffee. Flavor blended the molasses with a candy tobacco sweetness over a slightly thin but creamy palate. Nice lingering malty finish.

I think that beers need to stop calling themselves oatmeal stouts unless they have a distinct oatmeal flavor and feel. This has neither, but has malt and faint chocolate flavor aroma and flavor. The use of nitrogen gas definitely gives this a great look, thick and creamy but I think it takes away from flavor. The finish is fine, but doesn’t leave you wanting to take another sip.

Nice dark body with a tan head. Smoky, roasted malts coming up rather nicely in the aroma. Flavor is like drinking a breakfast meal, and in that respect the beer has done quite well. Nice and sweet. A little thin on the body, but otherwise, quite good.

Tan head, nice lace, sponge like in it's density, ruby to dark brown color; floral/rosy aroma, kinda tastes like cherrios and dark chocolate milk, with some late bitterness and roasted grain. Nice, unique oatmeal stout.

Black body, beige/brown head standing throughout consumption. Aroma of light caramel. Not too dark. Smooth palate, slightly biting hop yet clean finish. I will try this again for sure.

June 15, 2009 on tap at brew pub. Pours very dark with minimal head. Aroma of roasted malt/chocolate/oats and hint of vanilla. Smooth, thin with good balance. Easy to drink and leaving you wanting another one. Nice stout!

Truly a pitch black body, a few fingers of fluffy khaki head recede to a thin cap that goes on to retain from start to finish. Loads of fresh oatmeal, milk chocolate, some faint dry flaky hops, fresh cream, some brown ale characteristics. Super smooth and velvety, oatmeal, slightly bitter chocolate... incredibly smooth and easy to drink. I think this growler’s gettin’ kicked tonight no problem.
