COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our strongest, darkest and most heavy regular offering. It is virtually black in color and features rich roasted malt flavor with a delicate caramel and vanilla finish. It is carbonated and served with the use of nitrogen gas, giving the Black Water a beautiful cascading pour and thick, creamy foam atop your glass. Made with only the freshest American malts and English hops.

very dark with a scent and taste of bittersweet chocolate and coffee. smooth finish with very slight oat nut. more of a chocolate coffee stout than an oatmeal stout, but still very good.

cask. they just started serving this from the cask recently. tons better than the tap... slight aroma of berries and coffee. much more lacing and denser head w/the cask version. lots of chocolate, slight coffee flavors. creamier than guinness. lots of flavor. much more flavor than the regular tap version and sweeter. a very delightful glass of beer.

Growler courtesy of CLevar. Pours opaque black with thick tan head that sticks around leaving a lot of lacing. Aroma is Chocolaty with notes of coffee, and oatmeal cookies. Flavor is much the same with a full body and creamy palate

I didn’t really order this, but it was busy and when I said “Old Ale” the barkeep thought I said “Oatmeal”. Oh well, never one to waste good beer….A very slow pour. Nitro tap is set to pour at a trickle. Black as night. Tight, mocha head. Roasty malt aroma. Roasty malt taste. Slight hops in the finish. Not as “velvety smooth” as some oatmeal stouts I’ve had. But still, this is a meal in a glass. Notes of vanilla, white chocolate as well. Very satisfying.

It was dark brown in color with a nice head. It had a nice smooth flavor with a taste of coffe. Of all the beers I tried at Town Hall, this was the one I enjoyed the most.

Beautiful, almost black color, but there is certainly a brown hue. Toasted oat aroma. Coffee flavored -- like a strong dark roast bean prepared in a French Press. I tasted some chocolate as well. Nice "warm" feeling on the palate.

I have misplaced my rating sheet, but I don’t need a sheet to realize that this beer rocks! A very dark beer with large brownish head. Smells of sweet chocalate, roasted malts. Flavor is fanatstic, vanilla finish (I think?). Writing this is making me want another one. Highly recommended.

Black with tan head. Aroma is massively chocolatey with a late hint of fruit. Tastes amazing: chocolate, lightly roasted coffee with cream, dark stewed fruits, sweet caramel and - yes - there’s the alcohol. Like drinking liquid chocolate silk - thick, but not cloying and finishes quite quick then leaves a long and gentle roasted bitterness. Superb.

On tap at Town Hall. Perfectly black stout with thick tan head. Wonderful aroma of chocolate and coffee along with hazelnut. Very creamy, thick, and powerful tasting stout, having similar, though milder, flavors to much stronger imperial stouts but without the overwhelming hit of alcohol. Good bitterness balances the sweetness. Excellent, especially at its (in house) price.

mnbearsfan hooked me up with a growler of Black H2O Oatmeal Stout. Drank from snifter and pint, just polished it off. Syrupy thick black pour with super dark brown head. Nose of roasted nuts, bread. The hops really come through. Taste of roasted malt and barley with a strong earthiness. Finishes with some vanilla. Thick but smooth, lots of carbonation. Very flavorful and quite drinkable.
