COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our strongest, darkest and most heavy regular offering. It is virtually black in color and features rich roasted malt flavor with a delicate caramel and vanilla finish. It is carbonated and served with the use of nitrogen gas, giving the Black Water a beautiful cascading pour and thick, creamy foam atop your glass. Made with only the freshest American malts and English hops.

Tan head, nice lace, sponge like in it's density, ruby to dark brown color; floral/rosy aroma, kinda tastes like cherrios and dark chocolate milk, with some late bitterness and roasted grain. Nice, unique oatmeal stout.

Jet black and oily. Roasty, dark vinous nose. Very sweet to the tongue, some robsutness late...rather light for style but eminently drinkable.

2004 growler @ the DCVAMD gathering. Good dark brown appearance, lightly hazy and a small fizzy beige head. Aroma of nuts, sour milk, malted milk and some dry roast. Flavor is quite roasty, lightly sweet, with a good amount of oatmeal smoothness, but it needs more body. The creaminess is dried out by the bitterness on the end. Didnt notice much belgian characteristic.

Ontap at brewery (nitro-infused): decent pour: rich black and full cream colored head. Aromas of chocolate and burnt sugar. Flavor was drier than anticipated, with however a distinct dried fruit note. I was distressed by a fake creaminess in the palate and, on the otherhand, a surprising thinness of body. Just OK.

On Tap at Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery. Dark pour. Aroma of roasted malt and light burntness. Taste was of strong coffee, and a little chocolate towards the end. I didn’t get a lot of oat flavor in this one for some reason. Medium to light body. Seemed to have too much coffee flavor fpr style. May not buy again but was still pretty tasty.

Draft: pours dark black, burnt coffee, chocoalte, malt aroma, taste is a bit like sour coffee with some malt backbone, fairly thin mouthfeel for a stout which is always disappointing to me. Still, this was the best thing I had while at Town Hall.

Black like a stout with tan head that disappears and no lacing, definitely no nitro. Smell is clean vanilla, milk and dark chocolate, not overly sweet, flavar starts thee same, becomes fairly lactic, smoky and woody amd bitter root or bark as it recedes....which is taking a very long time this one.

On tap at Town Hall. Dark brown with ruby lowlights and a creamy brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel and fake chocolate. Body is a tad thin and tastes of semi-sweet roasted malt and mild chocolate but mostly just roasted barley and roasted malt. Finishes up a tad dry.

On tap at TH 20Aug2012, Of course it looks great, and smells great but the body is too thin, the oats dont seem to add much to make it smoother, fuller or creamier.. your average roast flavor makes this a solid beer but not superb
